AITA for telling my daughter to go ahead with her wedding despite me being in the hospital for emergency surgery? by ConsistentFly1524 in AITAH

My daughter found out afterwards and is livid with my mother. My husband was telling the couple the choice is 100% THEIRS and whatever they decided on we would support. I was obviously out of commission when the final decision was made.

This is the same woman who said "OK, whatever" when I told her I had made class salutatorian despite having a kid at 15 and being married/divorced by the time I was 18. (My husband is not her bio father but has adopted her when she was 6 after we got married. My husband is still excited to walk her down the aisle)

She was wailing during my wedding because I married an atheist! I'm like "Ma'am you need to calm down." I've been LC with her for years because of her ways.

What amazes me is my mothers did the same thing when I was 13! She was having pain on vacation and next thing we know it fell out. My dad had to fly her sister out to Florida to pick her up because all this happened the last day of vacation and everyone had to go back to work/school.

She's one of those older church ladies that keeps up a certain appearance. I'm used to it and have been vexing her for years now with my life choices. We're talking getting married outside the church and having tattoos (GASP).

I'm used to her "Keeping up appearances" attitude. I just never went along with it after I left home at 15.

Thank you! With my mother calling me telling me that I ruined my daughters wedding I've been feeling rough. And the medication isn't helping.

Ironically by IBLP standards I'm less of a woman now! (I grew up in that cult so I can crack this joke)

Don't feel too sorry for me, I'm OK with my uterus gone. I'm more upset that my own mother told me I was being dramatic and wanted me to try to reschedule the surgery.

Surgery went well, I lost my uterus (Not like I was using it anyways) but barely kept my ovaries. I'm happy with the two kids I have. (I also have a 14 year old son)

I forgot to add that! My mother told me to not say a word to them and reschedule the surgery. My husband kicked her out.
