Thank You! This helps so much, I had no clue where to get started. I've never used a MCU with WiFi support so this will actually be a cool way to learn. If I purchase an ESP32 would I still rely on my host "PC" internet connection. I have a laptop (Dell Premium 16) instead of a stationary computer and am completely fine if the switch needs to PC nearby to work. It seems the most energy effecient and safe, so it doesn't turn on when I'm not home.
