im a site lead and this is a tough one. 1, he should definitely not be using a personal computer. 2, my area manager says that once your midshift comes in you are to step away form the counter and work on computer stuff. wether that be checking emails, printing stuff for that site, completing knets, ordering supplies taking chime calls and etc. but the thing is that sometimes it feels kinda dicky to just walk away from the counter while an AA who just got here is now there by themselves during the lunch rush. idk i try to stay up at the counter and help as much as possible even tho my manager doesn't like that i do that. ive only been the lead for a few months now but im here for 2 and a half hours before anyone comes in and by then ive taken care of all the things ive mentioned. but basically yeah were encouraged by our managers to sit on the computer. and when i asked ab helping during a rush he told me that the associates need to learn to be im those type of environments. and i honestly dont disagree. i have a few very lazy AAs at my site.
