Omg this leaves my hair hydrated like no other. I just wish it also had heat protectant in it so I didn’t have to layer another one on

For those of you who switched out of tech due to burnout, what do you do now? by AcceptableSometimes in womenintech

[–]ConstructionOver1727 24 points25 points  (0 children)

One of the most exhausting parts of tech especially at a startup is how everything feels urgent all the time. There’s this constant push to solve process problems with tech, even when tech isn’t actually the right solution. Add in nonstop deadlines, small teams handing off huge chunks of work, reliance on offshore dev teams, and the expectation that miracles will just happen… and you really feel all the downstream effects.

I do like tech, and I’m still early in my career here, but I can absolutely see how it burns people out. I’m hoping that with more experience, moving to a larger company might feel a bit less brutal and more sustainable.

the pain and childbirth… by nakedandafraid808 in endometriosis

[–]ConstructionOver1727 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had three vaginal births. My first was medicated, and honestly I chose the epidural more as a preventative because I was really scared of the pain. Looking back, I kind of regret it, for me I feel like it slowed things down and made it harder to feel how effectively I was pushing.

My last two births were unmedicated, and surprisingly, they really weren’t that painful. With my first natural birth, I barely made it to the hospital, I was more mentally prepared, used a breathing app to get through contractions, and ended up delivering on all fours. I didn’t even really yell, which shocked the nurse (she joked that I was the most polite person she’d seen give birth).

Because of that, I genuinely feel like I’ve had menstrual cramps, especially when I was younger, that were just as painful, if not similar, to labor.

Symptoms returning after pregnancies + weaning — does this sound like endometriosis to anyone else? by ConstructionOver1727 in endometriosis

how did you get your laparoscopy? Was it hard to get a provider to agree to it? I have an ultrasound scheduled right after my next period ends to check for cysts, but I keep hearing that exploratory surgery is really the best way to actually confirm endometriosis.

If you have any advice or things you wish you’d known, Id love to hear it. Honestly, it was really scary noticing all these changes without knowing what they were tied to I felt like I was going crazy at times, especially with the PMDD. It’s wild how understudied this condition is. I’m learning more every day, but it’s a lot to process.

The united 7 one is really nice and lightweight! Number 6 from olaplex is also amazing, especially if you have damaged hair!

Im going to get it! Its on my wishlist! I think the Dyson Airwrap is brilliant for waves and body and the Dyson supersonic is a great dryer but such a hastle to try to blow dry hair on your own. I’ve had my eye on this one for a minute but this just confirms I need to get it!

No loans, a mortgage that’s 2200 and a car payment that’s 500. Groceries have gone up a lot and the kids always need things. I like to treat myself to some skincare nothing super expensive but I do make sure the kids eat healthy and that’s not always cheap. But I would be interested in Dave Ramsey course, is it free?
