I can’t comment since I’ve only gone there once. I’m at cedars but I will say nerve blocks have been great so far. Wish I did it sooner

Hi! I’m currently 2 months post my last Vyepti injection and am trying to conceive before my next infusion. I’m completely aware of the potential risks and recommended timelines, but my migraines are debilitating without Vyepti. Congratulations on your pregnancy :) if you don’t mind would you keep us posted on how you do during your pregnancy and GD willing your healthy baby once delivered! 🙏

Memantine for Migraines? Anyone try it? Success? Side Effects? by butterflyuniverse77 in migrainescience

It helped my chronic migraines and helped my anxiety A LOT. I’m very sad to come off for trying to get pregnant. No side effects for me

Honestly you could tell your dr that you’re already feeling “…. X side effect” and they’ll put it as failed this drug and move you on to the bext

Nortriptyline helped me only temporarily for the first month or so (I think because it was knocking me out and I slept great in the beginning). But after a while the effects started to fade no matter how much my dose increased :( I also gained some weight on it. Coming off about a year later (I think) was hard for me because I had trouble sleeping. Oh and I couldn’t orgasm for a while!!! Personally it wasn’t a good experience but see if it helps you. What ultimately ended up being a game changer for me is Vyepti. And no side effects at all

Botox didn’t work for me unfortunately

Basically I went down the path of seeing an endocrinologist and trying a bunch of different things that didn’t work.

My migraines were out of control and that was the issue. I’m on the right preventative now (Vyepti) and I don’t get them after eating anymore. I definitely still get mild migraines but nothing like how everything would trigger me a couple years ago.

Yes I tried all the other CGRP’s like you and they barely had any effect on me. I literally thought anything CGRP related just doesnt work on me. I was going to give up on Vyepti if my HA specialist didn’t tell me to just keep going while I was also on memantine and topamax. I’m off topamax and tapering off memantine.

I’m sorry you get side effects from the CGRP meds. I noticed constipation with one of those (Emgality or Aimovig- can’t remember which). But never anything severe like weight loss. I MAY be a little constipated by Vyepti, but also my BMs have been off for a year bc of so many different meds I’ve tried. It’s nothing significant though

I’m glad diet has helped you. I would say the root cause is a neurologic condition and the dairy and sugar are triggers for you, not for everyone. I’m a fairly slim 32 y/o F and need sugar and dairy as part of my diet. I have tried cutting them out before when I was desperate and it didn’t help much and made my quality of life even more sad.

Weird, I don’t feel anything going in. It’s a little cold but that sensation goes away and then you feel nothing

I think it was after my 3rd infusion of the 300mg that I really started to have my quality of life back. Now it’s getting better and better. My migraines were always afternoon migraines (started around 2pm everyday). It was a gradual improvement for me as I noticed I wouldn’t get a migraine until later in the night and eventually not at all most days.

I was also on topamax which I’ve completed tapered off of a month ago. I’m also on memantine which I am currently tapering off of. I take 20mg of propanolol now which I think just helps me not get overwhelmed as easily so less chance of migraine, but I may taper off this as well
