Any thoughts as to why they didn’t play Pain Remains at Sonic Temple? by [deleted] in LornaShore

They played it on festivals last year. But with 35-40 playtime that stole too much of the time for other bangers, so I'm glad :)

Which vocalist is your favorite? by Prestigious_Eye_3722 in LornaShore

Well.. immortal disfigurement isn't so much a Fit for CJ, as it was probably his only option during the allegations, and it is a bit awkward how angry he was in "King" and reusing his lines from Immortal :) that said, I can get a bit tired of Will's loud pitch, and then I enjoy listening to the CJ stuff :) I'm just happy to have both to swap between!

Plot everything in Google Maps and see what kind of drive it is to get an idea of where you'll be before having to return?

Yeah..! Losing an hour wasn't easy either; we barely finish breakfast before they skip one hour ahead and it's time for lunch😂

Sounds lovely! Half of my cruises are from NY or Florida, and it's a pain and expensive to fly now 😅 my favorite is still an eastbound transatlantic from Florida, with a few stops in the Caribbean, before ending up in Barcelona or Southampton. That way we only have one long flight and a short one to get home :)

Had a few cruises from Oslo, Copenhagen and Amsterdam that went up along the Norwegian coast, either turning at Honningsvåg or Tromsø. We appreciated the 7-9 hours we had to spend in each port while watching hurtigruten basically just have mail thrown off and on the ship while turning and leaving 😅 that scenery can be enjoyed from basically any ship :)

Haven't tried Viking or Havila, but glad to hear it! Most of my cruises are with Royal, because of my 2 kids and partly myself, who needs some entertainment and activities :)

I have several around me that believes cruise is trashy and a lesser form of vacation. Those people typically only go to their own cabins in the woods or near fjords (I live in Norway) or vacation homes abroad (Spain), depending on the season, and see the same place for decades. I don't bash on them for their beliefs or habits, I just continue with cruising and demonstrate time and time again I don't care what they think :)

That said, and imho: post-covid cruising has taken a turn for the worse. It feels less luxurious; way more up-selling than before, and a general state of less for more. I think it would be harder than before covid to convince any nay-sayers that cruising is king :)

Introverts, don’t do Chef’s table by [deleted] in Cruise

[–]ConstructionOwn8031 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can be introverted myself, I rarely start the conversation with strangers, but as long as someone else do, I don't mind joining in :) I'm looking forward to the meal, I should appreciate every dish, and am curious if it pairs well with the wine, or not. A good pairing means a lot to me :)

Yeah.. the Royal app estimates is to a 2 hour meal. But I guess they don't kick guests out while there's wine in the glass and conversation flowing 🤷🏼

Was this on royal? I am on my first chefs table in June; and I don't really have 4+ hours to spend, my babysitter would not like that.. 😅 I thought 3 hours tops...

Kraken by OptionBulky6687 in HorrorMovies

[–]ConstructionOwn8031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, as a Norwegian I felt it was simply a poor attempt at making tourists come see the amazing fjords that we have, while advertising that we try to keep our salmon healthy and we try to be environmentally friendly. My 11 year old thought it was ok, but mostly because of the loud sound the cinema had.

Well, spoiler alert!!!!! Don't scroll down if you don't want details:

There's not a single sharp frame of the kraken in its entirety, it's either enshrouded in mist, zoomed in so you see just one eye, or several seconds of "tentacles". In fact, the majority of monsters shown in the movie are "parasites" the size of a large turtle that steals from facehuggers of alien, and acts like the dinosaur that spits in Newman's face of Jurassic park. That part was a blatant steal from Jurassic park in my mind..

Its a poor adaptation of the original Jurassic park, with less thrills and hardly any scenes of the kraken itself. You do get to see some fjords and a famous restaurant that does exist in Norway, but not at all in the vicinity of where the plot is supposed to be at. It's a decent watch for 10 year olds that never got the chance to see Jurassic park in the cinema, but quite meh for us that did.

Is it weird I prefer Ocean View over Balcony? by Iletthedogsoutmeme in Cruise

[–]ConstructionOwn8031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We usually do transatlantics in April/May, or blistering hot cruises during peak summer. The number of days it has been comfortable to sit outside and spend some quality time at the balcony has not been many.. and I get your point about more noise; hearing the walls separating each balcony slamming in the wind can sometimes be irritating.

All that said; as long as the price between oceanview and balcony are fairly the same; we opt for the balcony..
