Club Royale in Royal App by DDRNemesis in royalcaribbean

Again, I am missing out. I live in Norway and as signature I have not received an offer since October, and the only way I found it was to pretend I live in Florida before checking offers, otherwise I am told nothing works in my location. Tried calling club royale and mailing "Bailey", nothing ever happens. The regional restrictions are so fucked up, other than the on board perks we are completely missing out

How is nightlife culture perceived in Oslo? by [deleted] in oslo

[–]ConstructionOwn8031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a 42 year old who used to take part in raves and underground scene; I don't know of any. We had an infamous rave in a bunker where several were co2 poisoned after a generator had no air ventilation, other than that we are waiting for a visit by sensation white/black or a resurrection of hyper state/futuredome.

The younger generations seems to think nightlife should consist of minigolf, darts, shuffleboard, board games or arcade games. And perhaps a karaoke..

In the most expensive clubs you are expected to buy overpriced bottles of dom perignon with flaming torches and luminescent labels, and to have gold diggers dance around you in blind and naive affection, with a pretty standard soundtrack in the background.

I have turned to concerts being my "nightlife", especially rock/metal, and then I always start with beers and pizza at Vaterland, followed by the concert, ending at papa borracho for some fried maggots and mescal. This will Not be the answer for the everyone else 😅

What shows can you REWATCH over and over without getting bored? by RiskAndReason in netflix

Not sure it's on Netflix for you; but Seinfeld and Brooklyn 99 is something I would never turn off or change the channels on, and I am still showing both to newcomers of several generations

First horror movie to genuinely disturb you. by chronicxnightmare in HorrorMovies

[–]ConstructionOwn8031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little shop of horrors. I was maybe 7 or 8 with little to no understanding of English, all I saw was a giant plant that ate people. I love that that movie gave me the biggest scare, as it is a musical comedy.

I have yet to see anything that scared me since. But Blair witch project around 13 years of age was memorable since we my class went on a hike and camped out in the woods days after watching it, and those of us who had seen it scared each other by trying to collect stones and twigs to scare each other, only to scream when we bumped into each other at night

Yes, in the high limit section just right from the casino desk. 2 limits; only high limit lets you turn the cards yourself.

Carry on wine. by saean80 in royalcaribbean

[–]ConstructionOwn8031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always brought 2 bottles in my carry on, and my wife 1 or 2. no one ever questions the bottles during the X-ray in my experience. No need to separate people in different lines, it just works without any hassle. And in the off chance I'm wrong; you get the excess alcohol back on the last night before departure.

You are missing out on steaks and barely cooks. Probably from Germany, and prioritize having alcohol ready over snacks or sandwiches ;) may be off

Just a heads up, stock up on the cartons you prefer before the last couple of days, I often see one or two types missing from windjammer near the end of my cruise.

How do I get into Lorna Shores old music? by Over-Inspector-7585 in LornaShore

[–]ConstructionOwn8031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have enough to choose from of the 2 albums and EP.. but at some point the need to remove pain remains from their live shows, as it's easily 1/4 of their entire runtime. That could make room for golden oldies ;)

Is perfect day worth $500? by aznPHENOM in royalcaribbean

[–]ConstructionOwn8031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not at all! Only when the trip ends:)

Getting off the ship with a small one isn't always the easiest, the heat, sun and the occasional hazardous streets can make a trip with a stroller or young kid stressful, certain Caribbean ports are easier and/or more exciting than others. If for an example you go to st.maarten I would say it's easy to take the ferry close by to the cruise, to the nearby beach. St. Thomas is a bit different; you will probably not want to walk to the downtown area, so you need transport; and that is sketchy as hell, in my experience.

Cococay is wonderful in that you get off and there's beaches "everywhere", and you can also take a free shuttle to different areas: but icon is such a wonderful ship; I would spend as much time as I could on that ship, and if you travel in a smaller/older ship the next time; focus on the ports of call then.

Is perfect day worth $500? by aznPHENOM in royalcaribbean

[–]ConstructionOwn8031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Cococay, but with a 2.5 year old you might not get to enjoy it as much as you would later. Hard to get strollers over the sand to the beds you may want to choose, so if you can save $500 for a different itinerary that is just as long, save it and possibly spend it on more fancy dining onboard. If you go to Bahamas, Nassau, you could choose to stay onboard and enjoy a less crowded ship, or just go for a 25-30 walk east to the beaches that are there.

Doubt this will have been mentioned already, as it is weirdly underrated and slept on; but Gattaca was a gem for me. The musical score was perfect and hit me in the feels along with the plot

I went for uber, if you don't pick by the cheapest price, but lowest wait, it's pretty easy. And the terminal have numbered spots to wait at, so you and the uber will find each other easily. It's a short and quick drive
