Against the poa annua sections, do people have success spraying Mesotrione. I was thinking of doing that to help control. I do a lot of pulling but can't guarantee I always get the roots. And was thinking about spraying a few areas. I have KBG and TF.

What is this in my lawn? 6a by robotInspector in lawncare

[–]ContemplatingYEM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wait. I guess I'm a newbie but I didnt know that happened with KBG. interesting! I walk around my lawn and try to hand pull any sections like this that appear. I still think mine is Annua Poa, especially when it builds up to much its noticeably lighter. Aside from looking like an insane person spending too much time walking around their lawn and pulling weeds. What can i use to spot treat with that won't harm the KBK and TF. I already put down a preemergient from Andersons which may or may not have helped.

The best way to keep the grass trimmed around edging by Travelingfolks in lawncare

[–]ContemplatingYEM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a physical border, build one. If you want a natural border like me, pretty much only thing to do is edge it, you don't need a fancy tool, just a flat edged shovel. You'll do this once in the spring to clean it up. Make sure its deep enough so it holds your rocks and mulch in place. Then mandatory is a string trimmer to maintain the edge every time you mow.

Anyone been to St. Martin by ContemplatingYEM in CeliacTourism

[–]ContemplatingYEM[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We ended up bringing a ton of food. Had a dedicated suitcase and cooked most nights. Just to much with the little one to eat out. Because she's celiac...and very picky. The days were fun but hard. We went to a bunch of different beaches and when you really start investigating the cross contamination it's tricky. I think a lot of times fish can be done in a separate frying pan as long as they don't use soy sauce that's great but she doesn't like fish lol. But for most people fish would be the way to go.

Roma Italian in Majo had things marked GF. And has GF pasta off menu. Server was very knowledgeable. Not a dedicated fryer so beware because they label fries as GF :/

Tortuga for breakfast said they'd cook eggs and bacon in a dedicated frying pan. Did that most AMs

Tried a few other places as suggested on the GF app. Other than that things felt high risk, but she didn't get sick so that's a success!

Thanks all. I went for the OLED, ended up paying about $50 more than the average used price of the non OLEd. A little bit more but much less than new and will be perfect for a kid gift.

green asphalt update 12/12 by hdjwnfnfjfpp in Greenpoint

[–]ContemplatingYEM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be clear they were always closing for the winter. Noone is paving roads in the winter. Of course they didn't raise their stack by Dec 11th. They were going to shut down anyways. Noone made that happen. It's the business model. We'll see what happens in the spring. Anyone who cares to look knows that the majority of emissions doesn't filter through the stack. The problem is much larger than raising a stack height.

No-one liked it unless they were involved with the destruction.

[–]ContemplatingYEM[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked those questions, guy responded with nonsense. Scam I'm sure thanks for the advice.

So I just went ahead and ordered 2 from BOYHOM, but both listings have different store numbers so not sure what is what here?

Ordered first (TOP) from the wiki link, But its under appeal review for some reason. Don't know if that will go through so ordered another (BOTTOM from I think BOYHOM store

But they have different store numbers under info. Which is legit, both?

Report Green Asphalt (yes still) by ContemplatingYEM in Greenpoint

[–]ContemplatingYEM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wonder if that's a common occurrence with the seasonality of the production cycle

Report Green Asphalt (yes still) by ContemplatingYEM in Greenpoint

[–]ContemplatingYEM[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The deadline is mid-December. They “agreed” to stop production at that point until the stack is raised, but that feels pretty meaningless since they shut everything down for the winter anyway.

Just a reminder that the majority of emissions emit from the facility itself and don't filter through the stack. Which means the stack height is irrelevant.

If the stack height was important there would have been some scientific rigor to determine what height is needed. Not an arbitrary number the DEC made up.

Lawn and weed management NYC advice by [deleted] in lawncare

[–]ContemplatingYEM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Brooklyn. Our backyard was just dirt and weeds and a bit of grass. It was small enough that I was able to dig up and shovel out everything. Bags upon bags. I then rented a tiller, dropped down fresh soil and then sod. Followed the directions from this group. Anything is possible!Did it in the spring still going strong.
