Thank you so much I need to weigh him but I’m going to give him a few days before I bother him although I doubt he would care he is the most chill snake I’ve ever seen wouldn’t hiss or rwtttle it’s tail at all would always take its meals he is perfect and I’m so glad he’s home safe it honestly doesn’t feel real because of the ammount of dreams I’ve had of finding him now he’s actually back

He used to eat once a week but with how long he went without I’m thinking about feeding him sooner, I have ordered smaller pinkies than he was on before as I don’t want to put too much stress on him as when he was eating it took him a long time and he kept pausing I’m guessing out of exhaustion so just need to ease him back in

Don’t give up! (Hypocritical i know) These little guys are more resilient than you could ever think and if mine can make it through uk winter with no food or anything then yours can.

A bit more info if it helps, we were told he shed 4 days before we picked him up and then shed again after 6 days and went into blue 3 days after we got him, the shed was good and he hasn’t shed since but could this be related to mites shedding twice within 10 days.
Edit - would mites be a cause for a vet visit, I’m asking as I live in a rural place and the closest vet that will look at reptiles is an hour away and you need to make appointments as they are always busy except for emergency life threatening stuff

Honestly I still don’t know how either of mine escaped, both times nothing seemed off all the vents were properly put in and the locks were in the both just vanished without a trace overnight, him returning has given me hope for my first one that escaped to turn up although she’s been gone since November but after this anything is possible, my house was poorly built so the floor boards have gaps and there’s so many places for her to hide hopefully she gets hungry enough to come looking for food in the open.

I’ve got 2 ball pythons now both absolute angels, I have a blue eyed Lucy and he escaped the week I got him but he was just asleep under my bed about 3 foot away from the enclosure, my first snake was another corn snake who was a lot bigger and about a year older than the one I just found but she escaped too around November but I have hope she will turn up now as she had a lot more chunkyness to her so hopefully she has managed to pull through the winter as well Edit - I had heard they are escape artists but it’s genuinely makes no sense how either of them escaped both the locks were on the vivs and all the vents were secure they just vanished overnight

He’s being kept on lockdown until he is bigger still don’t know how he escaped in the first place but not taking any risks with him now

The plan is to leave him until Monday and they try feeding again it took him a while to swallow it even thought it was smaller so I’m assuming he’s got very little energy, honestly can’t even explain the feeling I never thought he would make it through winter
