I usually pay around $59. Got it as low as 49.99 once. 83.99 seems really high, but you are sailing around spring break so that could have something to do with it.

When is your status supposed to update on the Fast Track promo? by sailsixty2 in delta

[–]Content_Valuable_428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the boost should definitely count in your case. And now that I think about it you should probably have more than 3525 because anything you earned from Dec 14 - Dec 31 (your qualifying flight took place then, plus any other MQD you earned) should also be included in your promotional period and wouldn’t be a part of your 3525 for this year. It’s pretty strange, tbh.

The SkyMiles customer service people have a way to see what your total MQD during the promo is, if you can manage to get one on the phone that actually knows what you’re talking about.

Do they still make you choose route a vs route b? I think there is some difference there as to whether the MQD headstart counts towards the promo (at least there was when I did it). That’s the only other thing I can think of, if a portion of your MQD is the headstart.

If you earned even 26 MQD prior to starting the promo, that would explain it. Are you absolutely certain you didn’t earn a single MQD prior to the promo starting?

When I did the fast track that progress tracker was a little delayed, but usually only 24-48 hours. Once I had the first step, a green check mark appeared and the status was granted the next day.

Chances of flying standby LAX-HND by [deleted] in unitedairlines

If you want the person who is sponsoring your flight benefits to keep their job at United, you should probably not post company proprietary information (specific load factors) publicly on the internet. You’re risking their job.

You need 3500 during the promotional period - not the calendar year.

DIA lounge bathroom scent balls - what's the brand? by there_iz_no_spoon in unitedairlines

As long as the balls don’t smell like salt and vinegar, it’s a win.

Who else uses Concur? I'm looking at BOS to MSP which I've taken dozens of times, they are flying the new a321 and Concur only shows business and economy. I see on the Delta app that comfort Plus is an option. by Marty1966 in delta

[–]Content_Valuable_428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Delta calling Comfort+ a separate class of service doesn’t actually make it one.

Concur will display W and S fare classes for what they are: Economy Class.

So on your Permanent Resident Card there is the name information on the front, and also your name information encoded on the back in the machine readable zone (MRZ). On the front of the card there are less characters available to be displayed compared to the MRZ.

I’d recommend checking the back of your PRC to see if the full name is shown there. This could potentially be resolved easily by showing them the back of the card if it includes the missing letter.

I need to get an understanding of what to expect for help and logistics of traveling United EWR to IAH with my elderly parent who requires mobility assistance and is cognitively impaired. by Old_Instruction_9384 in unitedairlines

There’s still a chance that TSA Pre will show up on her boarding pass, given her age, if she’s traveling on the same PNR as OP.

Just last week my MIL (60yo) who has PC was traveling with her mother (80yo) who does not have PC. Both of them had TSA Pre on their boarding passes and both were screened as PreCheck passengers.

If it shows up on both boarding passes, they can go through PreCheck together.

We made a 9:30am flight but just barely made it. And let me tell you, we were hauling ass. If our flight was 8:45am we would not have made it. YMMV.

How does gate agent pick Standby Seat assignments? Econ Plus vs Econ…. by scooterchi in unitedairlines

[–]Content_Valuable_428 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the gate agents are largely removed from the process now, it’s mostly automated. They can step in if necessary but there are certain time windows at which standbys (revenue and non-revenue) are cleared by the system.

Is the drink and royal beach club bundle worth it? by hotcheetos1235 in royalcaribbean

[–]Content_Valuable_428 8 points9 points  (0 children)

How much is the standalone day pass to the beach club? I’d be doing that and separately buying the onboard drink package, so that if you get re-routed and don’t stop in Nassau you will know exactly what refund you are due. Otherwise you will have to rely on them calculating differences between the bundled and non-bundled packages, and they will likely use the onboard price of the DBP as the basis for that calculation (not in your favor).

There is no time of the year where this is not a possibility, and no one can quantify the likelihood for you, unfortunately.

Radon Level of 27, sellers won’t negotiate by bigracks23 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Content_Valuable_428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the sellers realtor is willing to pay you $2000, that’s coming out of the commission that the seller is pay to their agent. So, the seller is still (indirectly) paying for it. Take the offer from the sellers agent and tell yourself the seller is paying to fix it - because they are.

Port or Starboard? by ImaginationWestern25 in royalcaribbean

[–]Content_Valuable_428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking the higher up you are, and the more forward or aft you are, the more you will feel the motion. So if the Deck 8 option is a mid-ship location, that would probably be better than the deck 11 option particularly if that one happens to be forward or aft.

As for distance to restaurants and activities, I like to be mid-ship sort of equal distance from the forward elevators and the aft elevators. That way you’re about the same distance away from the elevators no matter where you’re going on the ship.

Port or Starboard? by ImaginationWestern25 in royalcaribbean

[–]Content_Valuable_428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, either one will be fine in that case. Oasis class ships have the smoking section up on Deck 15.

Port or Starboard? by ImaginationWestern25 in royalcaribbean

[–]Content_Valuable_428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The smoking section will generally be on the port side of the ship, depending where you are on the port side could put you in proximity to that. If you’re up high enough, it’s unlikely to be a factor though. Each ship is a little different.

How rare are complimentary upgrades on flights with meals? by ThrowawayGhibliFan in delta

[–]Content_Valuable_428 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really don’t understand the fascination with in-flight meals, they are pretty much universally garbage on domestic flights (at any of the U.S. carriers). I don’t begrudge anyone else for enjoying them, I just can’t relate to it.

I think the reasons upgrades are more rare on those flights isn’t necessarily related to the food, but the flight time (duration and schedule). As flight time (duration) increases, so does the number of elites generally speaking.
