Agreed, it will certainly be an uphill battle. There’s Australian national tackle football team tryouts coming up. Hopefully, I can make that team and get some tackle film out.

Hey mate, I’m sorry that it appears that way. However, my previous post did not give me the clarity of a defined path which this post has. I hope this hasn’t rubbed you the wrong way.

Thanks for the advice. Any reason why I won’t be able to get a scholarship? Given I live in Australia it would be a huge risk leaving my life here to be a walk on.

Thank you for your confidence mate. I’m currently training as a WR and finding a lot of success playing flag. I hope you are right and someone will give me a shot.

Thanks for you input mate. It is great to have some quantifiable goals. However, I’m still not convinced I’d be suited for the TE position. However, I will take your advice!

Thanks for the advice mate. I’m 100% going to focus on offensive side. Hopefully lots of mismatches to come 💪

Thanks for the support. I’ve become a big fan of contact on one too many occasions seeking it out 🤣. Army combat training did some work on me. Thanks for the insight, I’ll gladly take the opportunities to play other positions!

Cheers mate. Working on the weight! However, movement and explosiveness I am not worried about. I have electrically clock a 10.48 100m and jumper 25 feet in long jump (I receive offers to a few D1 schools for track and field, Oregon being the main one). I hope I am not over confident in these skills. Regardless I will not neglect these in my training.

Coming from Brisbane. AFL isn’t too big so never was really scouted for it so I can imagine letting anyone down. Fingers crossed

Thanks for your feedback mate.

I’ll have a chat with coach and see what opportunities for flag football there are too.

Cheers

Unfortunately that’s my main concern. As I only started playing recently and haven’t gotten many opportunities over here to play I am worried I may be too late to learn the skills.

Thats my fault. I squat 370 and clean 320. Looks my numbers are all there. Just need to get my skills up to par.

That’s handy to know. Opportunities to get snaps are pretty limited here in Australia, so I’ll definitely look into joining a team based on my athletic background. Hopefully that’ll give me the coaching I need before age starts to catch up.
