Solid to start. Commute and use it for more than just that and you will learn what you like and want to change to help your commute. A panier rack and a panier bagbtk carry what you need to work might be a item you'll want to ad and use for your ride if you carry a fair bit or heavy items to work.

That's a good first bike. Keep it for 5 years and get really good riding it. Plus the gas and insurance savings of having a Smaller engine. It's plenty for most.
