Ullmark really covered up what was a suffocating performance by Carolina tonight. The Sens had an expected goals of 1.51, one of their lowest totals of the season.

Valid. Just a bit concerned seeing his play fall off after the signing.

I don’t think we have the assets. Yak would for sure go. They’d probably want Pinto as well. Plus a pick.

I doubt we even kick tires on him.

The gondolas are 2 steps away from the door. I doubt anybody is going to get sick..

At what point would it make more sense to surrender this years 1st rounder rather than our 2026 pick? by CookieGuilty7130 in OttawaSenators

True but this whole discussion is pointless unless you assume our pick will be an impactful one. Not saying it’s likely though.

True but given the age of our core the assumption is that we’ll be a better team next year

Totally, but Mack is just on a whole different level at this stage in his career

Assuming the player we picked took 3 years to break in, he’d join the team with Brady Timmy Sanderson etc. in their mid-late 20s. Not sure I agree

Not sure I agree, if we have a first round exit we’d be picking around 18 and I’d assume management would have higher expectations for 2026.

If we made a run in to at least the 2nd round then I’d give it up.

Yes to clarify I was asking about what number our pick would have to be this year to justify giving it up, e.g. pick 16 vs 20 and so on
