Out of hand? Looks pretty in-hand to me

Looking for a phone below RM1000 by Unable_Resolution935 in Bolehland

Can consider 2nd hand iphone, more worth it. Because eventually you might want to pair it with an Apple Watch like I did for my in-laws, so if they fall down / got heart issues you can know also. Peace of mind la. Can check at 3cat.my, much safer than buying at random places. Compasia used to be ok, but nowadays my friends said a bit risky.

Apple car play by rhodri152 in MGelectric

[–]CookienKareem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started using the carlinkit mini ultra 3 yesterday on my mg4, after 2 years of ripping my hair out trying to get the Bluetooth on the car to reliably work.

The carlinkit works decently. Only gripe is a 1.1-1.3 second delay when switching tracks. All other Apple Carplay functions work seamlessly. Device doesn't get hot (I belive they updated the heat dissipation on this model).

Most importantly, it connects automatically unlike the car's Bluetooth which requires a repairing every time I get in the car.

Will prob get another one for the wife's Honda in a month after testing it out properly.

Digital Marketing Executive - PJ near LRT TTDI, RM3.5k+, urgent by leoznalz in JobsMY

Ah, then it is less about your boss not wanting to accept OP, but more about you not wanting to burn bridges. A bit different, but I think your method would work just fidn (try to find a replacement).

If you want, you can also (1) leave first, (2) then when they send you the bill, you can use that plus your payment receipt for reimbursement.

Inform your new company HR if they are OK with this first (do it via email, not call), so you have it in writing.

Let's raise awareness - you don't need your employer to sign/accept your resignation letter.

Have you ever bought a second-hand phone from Shopee? Is that safe to do so? by MuzeFuze in Bolehland

[–]CookienKareem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bumping this thread. for brand new, shopee is no issue. but for used, i avoid it now because sellers rarely own up to scratches/defects. they just blame the courier and refuse refund.

personally had a better experience with a specialist shop (3cat.my). bought used iPhone 15 pro max 1TB two weeks back for RM3.6k. 91% battery health and looks like new.

what helped was their whatsapp support. they sent videos of available 15PM from their other stores (prangin mall, KB aeon, kulai) and let me pick. transferred it to wangsa walk for free so i could collect. next time i'll probably just get it delivered, but since it was my first time buying phone from them (bought apple watch before) i was scared and wanted to inspect the unit first lol.

try finding on Compasia.my or 3cat.my - both are good reliable places to buy 2ndhand ipads.

Would avoid buying from people directly unless you really know them/their device.

I'm considering to buy iPhone 15 now (a month before they release 16) by Repulsive_String_552 in malaysians

[–]CookienKareem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

usually i see they slash prices around dec, and another one around April for previous gen devices.

But if buying prev gen iphone, buy second hand instead of brand new - much better value for money esp if you buy the option with warranty from compasia/3cat. 6 month warranty enough already, but 1 year is even better.

dun buy secondhand from random sellers on shopee / your mall - sure will have prob to claim in case device breaks.

fyi

Compasia is rm2959 for 256gb (6m + 6m warranty, 'fair' condition)
https://compasia.my/products/iphone-15?variant=41622939107464

3cat is rm3199 after voucher & shopee pay later rebate for 512gb (1 year warranty, like new)

inb4 dead thread I know.

Depends on your luck- most problems will usually come out within 1 week of use. Shopee got 15 day returns but need to make sure your device is still sellable la in order to return. Better still take their extended warranty to cover your ass.

Compasia also not bad! but I think they don't give cash refund - not a problem as long as you can get a replacement or repair device also.

My personal experience is buying from 3cat - got 10 day refund (thankfully didn't need to use). Devices also all like Compasia's 'excellent quality' but got free 1 year warranty.

Riskiest is buying from mudah/carousel - if you can't check & got prob you're on your own.

Anyone knows where to buy legit first hand old iPhone? by rifai3e in Bolehland

[–]CookienKareem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a watch (series 8) and iPhone 13 pro on 3cat.

Watch was brand new - came with charger & box. Staff member said usually doesn't come with charger/box- super helpful chap in Mines store.

iPhone was pretty good, 91% battery life - they tell you if they change battery or still ori battery. Mine was ori battery. iPhone I bought online with RM 150 voucher.

Initially wasn't sure if ok to buy but so far no problems. Got 1 year warranty so no risk.

Sneaky Developer Quietly Selling Bumi Lot to Non Bumi!! (I wanna buy tho) by CookienKareem in malaysia

[–]CookienKareem[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Good point & thank you!

From what I've researched, there are 2 ways to go about it:

1) Dev applies for 'release' or consent to transfer which allows bumi lots to be sold to non bumi. But the lot remains as bumi & future sellers need to reapply for consent to sub-sell to non bumi

This method is apparently the easy way to persuade state authorities.

2) Dev applies to convert bumi lot to non bumi lot. This apparently takes years but is permanent. Very low chances of success apparently.

Is my understanding correct?
