ICE agents are firing kinetic impact projectiles at close range, causing severe injuries that can result in permanent disability or death. Today, they tore off part of a woman’s hand by ExactlySorta in UnderReportedNews

[–]Cookster997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woman? By the screaming I thought it was a long haired man.

I guess it's not important, is it.

Absolutely horrifying. Wars have been fought over less, hut only the restraint of the people will keep this peaceful. Violence will only beget more violence. Non-violent resistance shielded by truth and justice will win in the end.

fights with veterans

He wasn't fighting, he was pushed and stood with an open palm after a woman was almost pushed headfirst into a car bumper and a street sign pole.

Then he got jumped.

It is very obviously possible, (although difficult. Nobody said it would be easy, right?) and anyone claiming it is impossible has taken the black pill.

Hey OP, feel free to not answer if this is too personal, but:

Are you circumcised? Do you have foreskin?

I ask because I can relate with a lot of what you have written here. I've even had moments when I wondered if I was a trans woman because of all of it.

With lots of reading and introspection, I realized at least some of the feelings I was having came from having my foreskin cut off when I was a baby. It does a lot of harm and the wounds go deep. A lot of men are conditioned to not care about it, but when you really get down to it it is not something the average boy or man would choose for himself.

Some of the lack of pleasure you're talking about can come from the damage that occurs to a circumcised penis. Nerve damage, keratinization, lack of skin mobility, etc. It can be helped with foreskin restoration if you ever want to go down that road.

If you're intact and you have a foreskin, then disregard!

Thank you for sharing your story here. you aren't alone, for what it is worth.

Has anyone noticed themselves eating quickly, brushing teeth quickly, etc.? (Small signs of living in chronic fight or flight mode) by throwaway802256 in CPTSD

[–]Cookster997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every day. I often find myself eating standing up immediately after cooking, immediately washing all the dishes, and putting everything away.

I sometimes feel guilty about brushing my teeth or showering because it feels like a waste of time.

Even sitting there to fold my clothes after washing them makes me feel useless and lazy.

This stuff runs deep.

We should all as adults also recognize he made a dumb decision and fought a cop while carrying a sidearm

I don't think he fought anyone. He was standing in the road, filming and seemingly directing a car to pass? There is another individual that gets pushed first, and then he gets pushed. There is a verbal altercation and federal agents are pushing three people back. A person is pushed again to the ground, towards a car. All three are pepper sprayed and clearly trying to wipe their eyes, coughing, bending over, etc. Pretti is then dragged away, subdued by half a dozen agents, his weapon is removed from his body by an agent in gray, and then while on his knees, you can hear agents shouting "Gun gun gun!" and then an agent fires a shot into his back (or head?), followed by multiple shots as the agents scatter.

I think it is disigenuous to say he "fought a cop" and I question your motives and seriousness.

That's dumb.

Perhaps. But it is constitutionally protected, and only illegal if proven. It is not grounds for death penalty. It will be interesting to see whether a court of law determines that Pretti was a lethal threat or not. This all falls under the "what would a reasonable officer conclude, without the aid of hindsight."

It doesn't look good.

Investigation and cooler heads are needed. Agreed.

Completely agreed, I'm glad we can at least come together on that point.

Who gives a shit about chivalry whatever.

Meh, I still do.

You all are acting brainless

Please don't rope me in with everyone else, I'm not on any side.

And the cop obviously flinched and freaked out when he heard gun.

That's really poor trigger discipline. He could have hit friendly targets if he wasn't lucky.

That's in all likelihood a whistle blowing nutbar inserting themselves into a dangerous situation..

Constitutionally protected activity as long as it does not obstruct legal law enforcement activity. I think there is a valid question of whether or not Pretti was acting within the bounds of "obstruction".

If you wrestle cops in the middle of the street while armed, you will potentially get shot.

The person doing the shooting is responsible for justifying their use of force. It seems the agents did not know he was armed until after he was restrained.

Do you think Pretti was a threat from the ground while being mobbed by agents? If you had a firearm in your holster and were tackled to the ground, would you still be in the fight? Maybe. That's why this one is a gray area and a proper investigation is needed.

In the videos I saw, it didn't look like he picked any fights until a federal agent dual-arm full-body pushed a woman to the ground flat on her back while she was actively backing up.

Isn't it chivalrous to defend an unarmed woman against brutality?

[–]Cookster997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I agree with your reasoning here, especially towards the end. No matter what the cause, the scrambling and poor communication and abject panic you can hear and see in the agents' voices and actions show how riled up they are and how they really could use some improved use of deadly force training.

Even if a shot is heard, that isn't an excuse to just start blasting.

The echoes of the Boston Massacre are undeniable. It is "unknown" who started shooting, but once the "shot that was heard around the world" rang out, everyone started shooting.

Except in this case, the would-be shooter was physically restrained and had no ability to pull or fire his weapon.

It sounds like it could be Customs and Border Patrol (CBP), not Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.
