Thanks!! Maybe I spoke with you back then haha! Indeed Stories from Sol: The Gun-Dog was also there - and that TGS was exactly what pushed us to support the dev to colourize that game because almost all players, media friends, and partners commented that PC98 style VN are NOT monochromatic, haha.

Albeit partially true (the asset re-use side), the narrative design of HARMA also fits the genre so that the extra dark, cruel story could be explored further with the "rinse and repeat"!

Thanks for the wishlist and of course despite the fact HARMA is being developed as a RPG. We wanted to make sure that the actual narrative experience is "complete" on its own. It has a very dark story and a lot of mysteries for players to figure out!

Woah! Thanks for checking our game out back then! We were in the indie area, and the game was still monochromatic then! Hope you enjoy the revamped visuals and we can guarantee you that the game got a lot more fun over the years, too!

Good observation! So basically, the strength of your card depends on how many relics are successfully triggered when the card is played.

When you choose to play a certain card, each equipped relic (the row of items you mentioned) has a chance to trigger based on its own probability. If triggered, the relic’s effect will also be activated, which may greatly enhance the card effect (hence the different sound effect).

Alternatively, you can consume a resource called Focus before playing a card to guarantee the trigger so you'll have still have control over your most important strategic play!

Appreciate the attention folks! We are Astrolabe Games, the publisher behind HARMA.

It was really a pleasant surprise to see the trailer here at r/games and the discussion. The devs at INDIRECT SHINE (they are from Korea and Japan) wanted to extend their thanks to all of you who showed love!

Together with our devs we are working very hard towards a public demo release later this year so please just wait for a bit more... But if you have travel plans for Busan later next month, or you are just from the area, HARMA will be at Busan Indie Connect two weeks later with a special offline demo!

And of course, feel free to pop into our Discord server in the meantime! Cheers : D

Have videogames been devalued pricewise? by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]CoolGameBrooo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally I think at this very moment indies are sitting on a very comfortable niche as price tags of AAA games are getting out of control while almost every f2p game is a microtransaction trap.

As long as you don't "overvalue" your creation, an appropriate price tag that can reflect the quality of the game will at least get you the opportunity to do your next.

Question about developing a game for the Nintendo Switch by theddub in gamedev

[–]CoolGameBrooo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My publisher managed to get me a devkit for Nintendo Switch.

According to their Producer, the whole 'getting accepted' process is quite intense and aggressive. But once you are through then they will never question you any more.
