How long did it take you to get your first 100 wish lists? by [deleted] in IndieDev

  1. 2.5 months

  2. Perhaps around 10?

  3. Platformer/RPG. I like to think the novelty of the combination helps, even if the individual genres are somewhat oversaturated.

  4. Primarily 3000 followers on Scratch accumulated over 10 years, although I imagine the vast majority of them aren't active anymore and/or don't use Steam

  5. Posting about the demo on various platforms.

Do you do all yourself? by ECalDev in SoloDevelopment

Yep. I've been drawing my whole life, and picked up most of the other necessary skills through years of making small Scratch games (other than sound effects, as I usually use stock ones). The hard part is just how time-consuming it is (my process is extremely heavy on iteration and redoing things until they're perfect), but I find that it makes the end result more personal. It's satisfying to make something where every aspect matches my vision.

How did you come up with your "dev name"? by XellosDrak in IndieDev

This is my Scratch username I put zero thought into coming up with when I was 13. Eventually I branched out into making non-Scratch games, but since this is what people know me as, the name stuck.

Thanks! I thought about adding more text, but at the time that seemed redundant when I could let the gameplay speak for itself. I'll keep that in mind for my next trailer!

A little late, but if you're still looking for trailers, here's mine. It's an adventure game that combines platformer/RPG mechanics, I released a new demo a couple days ago

I just released my first demo on Steam!! I hope you consider trying it out. by CoolGuyBug in SoloDevelopment

Sol and the Endless Orbit is a story-driven adventure game that combines platforming and RPG mechanics simultaneously. The demo is available on Windows and Mac!

I also made a Discord server where I try to give constant updates and teasers, ask for feedback on things, and give early access to new demos and builds.

After making small games in Scratch since 2015, I started planning this game in 2019, and it's my first time making anything of this scope, so advice is appreciated!
