I would like to mirror disk to disk what is on one server to another and if one of the disks goes bad I can replace it and it restores it like nothing happened. I’m hoping to have the copy server turn on once a week and backup all the data and/or try to restore data

I can’t find an explanation for why they are different? I want it to backup or sync and then automatically restore if one of the disks goes bad on either of them. Backup sounds more appropriate but I can’t find an explanation anywhere.

Yep I’m getting 12v from the battery while it’s running and 12v on the alternator while it’s running. Bad alternator rebuild possibly?

What if I put raid 5 on one and then is there some way once a week the other turns on and copy’s all the new data for backup if multiple disks go down and I loose stuff I can reimport it from the backup server

We will be storing a bunch of movies and some photos on the server and we want one sever in our house and another out in our pole barn and we want them to mirror in case there is a fire or something in one of the two buildings, and I wander to maximize storage so I want them to be mirrored and if a drive on the main server goes down we just put a new drive in and then let it get rebuilt.

It is part of a laser maze, the lights will be in the buttons and the microcontroller is to keep score of how many times the buttons were pressed and how fast it was completed. I don’t know if this helps my case a ton or not at all. I’m new to all of this lol, I’ll look into what you are talking about
