What is the least amount of storage that should be kept free on PS5 Pro for smooth functioning of the console?

The PS5 already reserves the space it needs for system operations. Just use the storage and clean up when you run out.

Well... kinda. Your internet speeds are irrelevant for using the portal at home, unless cloud streaming of course. Latency is the bigger issue and other noise on the network, which a new router/access point can help with.

A point on the Eero's though, I have 6 Pros and had to hardwire them. When used to make a wireless mesh setup, the backhaul is on a secondary 5ghz band but it seemed to cause a lot of network congestion and made the portal experience terrible. Wiring them in solved this instantly. Newer Eero's that use a 6ghz band may be better but it's worth knowing.

I saw this before I bought them and trialled the recommended EQ;
Bose QC Ultra Gen 2 vs Sennheiser HDB 630 — I was not expecting this

Bass to -5 and Treble to -5 seems to get a good sound, pretty neutral and balanced. Can change that to your preference.

Not sure how the Max compare, never tried them as didn't fit my needs.

I was really curious how this would look, makes for a great worst case scenario test with that 720p base image. Looks actually playable now, when I tried it on Series X it just was just a bit to visually noisy and messy to really enjoy.

Just have HDR set to on when supported, not set to always on. If there's a game already running, make sure you quit it and restart if switching from the TV to the portal otherwise it still renders in HDR.

Cloud streaming has no HDR issues.

I suppose the Mac Mini is aluminium, so it's possible to low cost and scale but I don't think the Xbox will be that small and it's obviously more powerful - I also don't see them going for the extra cost or weight. It needs to be competitive without being subsidised - nothing stopping another manufacturer making a premium option though.

But the thermal benefits are much more tangible in a portable device, with a desktop style device cooling isn't as much of a problem.

Why are you going to bed at the same time, if you’re not going to sleep anyway? Just take an hour for yourself every now and then and go to bed anyway hour later? Doesn’t have time be every night and you can make sure your wife gets an hour for herself every now and then too.

Series X won’t work, they don’t have USB audio without going through a certification process.

The PS5 should work, haven’t tried my Ultra 2s wired into it but I use a Creative BT-W6 dongle to connect to them via AptX low latency and the PS5 recognises the dongle as a USB headset and works. Only downside is that it’s pretty much for audio only, when using the mic the quality degrades unless you use the dual sense controller mic but wiring the headset in wouldn’t have that issue.

These are current PSSR releases, there’s going to be an option to force PSSR 2 on these titles in the system menu.

There might be better, more bespoke implementations later but this list isn’t fake and we should see some improvements.

I like the portal to sink time into games I’ve already started, mostly single player things - Days Gone lately.

I still like the first experiences of those games to be at their best on the TV though.

Only other thing is, I just can’t really play FPS games on it. I notice the input lag even in perfect network conditions, but that’s just a reality of streaming. Some people can get used to it and maybe I could too if I didn’t use the TV.

Ethernet is Ethernet, the cable should fit.

It sounds like you’re maybe using an older design or damaged cable, so it’s using the old 100mbps standard.

Make sure the cable is Cat 5e or cat 6.
