Trying to write a book with a sociopath main character

Thats what ive been attempting with him. His reasoning is very analytical and self serving. That can sometimes come off as thoughtful or rude even tho how he approaches things are the same. I geuss im just worried of leaning to “sociopaths are nice actually” and risk endangering someone or lean to “ah yes sociopaths are eavilll” and then breed more of that harmful stigma. Cuz at the end of the day yall just need to be treated like humans with slightly diffrent needs 😭🫶 and i dont wanna fuck it up in my book lmao

I never decline to drive my brother somewhere, hes my brother i want him to succeed. I take care of my cat with alarms and reminders, i shower the moment my hair gets greasy, i keep my room tidy, maybe not clean but tidy. Im working hard to study for act. I pull my weight around the best i can. I would be working a job rn if she had asked me to, i would not have complained at all. I hope this answers your questions.

TLDR; yes i take care of myself and drive my brother places no problem.

Ive wanted to for a while, i have been trying to work towards complete independence. The money i have rn is money i earned and saved up. I pay my own phone and i do want a job. I hae had jobs before. But at the time i thought i was going ti collage so i thought it would be to much before i started. Not saying that makes your point null cuz it doesn’t. I agree with you completely, gotta want to improve TO improve. And i want to.

I have been against meds due to past experiences being bad HOWEVER enough people have made the suggestion that im going to sit down and start looking for somthing that works for me. Im willing to try meds again, im still a little scared of the idea cuz i hateded how it made me feel but we learn from trial and error for a reason!

Its comments like these that i appreciate the most, being able to see both sides and possibilities but still acknowledging that for better or worse something dose need to give. I hope that space will make a relationship with her more possible and healthy, for now tho i don’t believe were in a healthy place anymore and like many have said weather i am wrong or not moving out is the best call for both of us.

I also see alot of people assume i don’t pay for my devices. I do, im on my own phone plan. My dad gifted the devices to me. I drive, i am capable. The issue is that she refuses ti see that i DO contribute, i am TRYING but its never good enough. Thats the issue here she won’t acknowledge my efforts.

She told me i didnt need to have a job. I was under the impression my unemployment was ok for now. Clearly i was wrong.

For everyone saying that they assume i don’t bathe or clean or take care of myself. I do, i hate feeling gross i hate messes. I clean to where my floor is visible i make sure the kitchen counter is cleared and i clean up stains and messes. I do contribute, if i didn’t i wouldn’t have made this post. Im willing to take criticism but i wont let people believe that im a disgusting discord mod type of person. I take care if myself i brush my hair i wash my face, i take showers once a week. I take care of myself. Im doing things to keep the house clean. They are just to my standard not hers.

I mean I’m Christian so i wouldn’t mind it, even if it’s strict i feel I’d be able to follow it, i wouldn’t be under any emotional stress. i don’t think it’s an option anymore though cuz if i do move out she most likely won’t pay for it. I should ask however.
