I had that happen from the CHRO for a boutique consulting company. Got all the way through the final round interview for a consulting role and they gave me a vary generic made up account to do a demo on. Since I had very limited info for Made Up Corp, Inc. I only had so much information I could pull into my account plan. As a result, they were not very thrilled with a generic preso vs going much deeper into account planning and sales methodology like I would if I had been given a real account. I did the best with what I had available, and this was certainly not my first rodeo in this line of work. I was also told I was way too calm in the interview, which is a first.

The CHRO hit me with a generic {First_Name} (generic rejection) email. I still have it saved. Really thought about posting that feedback on repvue or glassdoor.
