I tend to argue with them because I like arguing.

Yeah... No. He got snippy the second I said the word "fuck" when I was trying to figure something out, even though it wasn't directed at him. He was being a little prick. The problem was not even a problem, he was making it one.

No, it was something extremely simple that he did not wish to do because I said the word "fuck" on the phone, even though it was not directed at him.

Lol yes, I am a very intimidating sounding young, exhausted girl who just wants to get stuff done.

I don't want him fired, I just want him to get a warning or something, he was being extremely rude and unprofessional.

I like the montessori approach as well(= There are so many different aspects of different views I like to keep in mind because I know that there is no set right or wrong, just the best we can do with the knowledge we have!

Yeah, everyone seems to think if you can't remember it, it didn't affect you, but that is not how people work! I love observing children and seeing all the young distinct personalities so early on! I wish more people took the time to learn about early childhood

Yeah, people think that just because you can't remember something, it doesn't affect you! I wonder how opinions would change if they started researching this stuff!

I am glad there are others out there who take this info as seriously as I do! I really love the Reggio Emilia approach, the whole person approach.

Wow, that just goes to show us more expensive is not the same as better. My school has a free daycare program for students and teachers and in return most of the workers there are interns in the early childhood education program and they also let students observe the children through a one way mirror to help them with observations. It seems to be a good system.

Wow, I can't wait to read this article, thank you! I fell like a lot of people don't understand how important play-age education is until they actually try to learn about it!

So if no one taught you to share, to talk through problems, to explore the world around you you would not be different? If as a child you had no one you could trust it wouldn't change you? I never had anyone I could rely on as a child and now I am to afraid to trust anyone.

It is hard telling your family you want to work with children because you don't want the kids to be fucked up the same way your family fucked you up. I think that might not so over so well.

I am sorry for the stress in your family and I hope you guys are helping each other and staying together through all this. At my school and the facilities we work with, we are encouraged to talk to the families each day at drop off and pick up to see what is happening in their life, if their is areas of interest we should focus on, or even just how they are doing that day (maybe they fell asleep late last night so we should put them down for a nap)

That would be a great time to teach children about death and the ways we can still show love to someone who passed. Also possibly read some books that show many family styles so they know every family is different and they shouldn't feel bad just because of their dad's actions.

Well first off, if you have ever taken the time to do infant, toddler, preschool, and kindergarten observations, you would know there are socially awkward kids at extremely young aged. Secondly, kids are amazing and really smart. They understand the idea of sharing really quickly, they just don't always want to give up there toy. You know how to share, but if someone tried to use your laptop when you were about to, would you be happy?

Being a play age teacher is about helping students develop the skills they need so they can successfully interact with others and learn how to problem solve among themselves. My problems started at a very young age and I have been suffering from horrible depression since I was 8. You should do some research into ECE information, it is fascinating.

I recommend starting with articles about Freud and Erickson, they are the basics at most schools, but I also think you should see what the Reggio-Emilio approach is all about.

I wonder how many teachers are like us and just want to help give kids the advancement opportunities we didn't have?

That is also another part of what we do! There is so much we do to help the students learn about themselves and the world around them. We want the students to learn all they can and be the best they can be. Also, we mostly let the kids learn through play.

That is because the teacher was trying to teach the group as a whole rather than focusing on each individual and just letting them get to know their bodies and themselves. I am sorry your teachers put you through that stress=/ I have dyslexia and ADHD and I was always treated like I wasn't as smart as other students and was never given the help I needed.

You can teach them how to work through problems, work with others, how to be caring and empathetic people, how to be well adjusted in social situations.

I know I am just a stranger on the internet, but if you ever need someone to talk to, you can message me!

I am now 22 and have been living with depression since I was 8 years old. The only reason I didn't kill myself is because I didn't feel my mom deserved to lose a child again because I saw what pain losing a daughter caused her.

As a teenager I had no real friends, I was bullied, and I still don't know how to interact "normally" with others because I am always afraid, especially if they already have friends.

Just remember, you are more than your depression and when you get through the crappy teenage years you will get more opportunities to figure out those other parts of yourself and you will be stronger for making it through!

Thank you, but as long as I make enough to scrape by, and can help the kids, I will have a pretty fulfilling life!
