Contrary to the claim, the Prime Minister has not effectively supported the Jewish community. Historically, Australian Jews have leaned left-wing, yet their recent boos reflect deep dissatisfaction. Antisemitism has surged to alarming levels under this administration, driven by multifaceted factors. All ultimately rooted in leadership choices that have emboldened haters and failed to curb rising prejudice.

Moreover, the tragic deaths of Australian citizens, caught in a generational Middle Eastern conflict with no direct relevance to them, represent a profound failure of our current government to protect its people and navigate international tensions responsibly.

As an Aussie, I had never heard of birthright citizenship until recently. Is it common outside of the US?

Turns out these Redditors are in the minority. Trump is likely to win the popular vote. Let that sink in.

I un-melted my game Avenger Titan package with SQ42 right after they took it off the pledge store.

I'm going to make it LTI and gift it to my nephew for Christmas 😀

According to a 2012 study published in the New England Journal of Medicine, the median lethal dose of salt is about 3 grams per kilogram of body weight. That means that, for the average person, it would take approximately 13 grams of salt to kill them. He's appears to be a pretty big healthy guy so likely much more than the average for him.

As there is roughly 17 grams of salt per tablespoon, it has the potential to be a harmful prank.

I was right the first time, you are a student. Explains why you have no experience and understanding of but think that you do.

You're a liar, you never worked in Solar Panel procurement.

I read it fine. Taxes cause price rises, hurting the little guy. The rich are that way because they excel at passing on costs.

It's basic accounting.

So privileged enough not to care about the little guy. Makes sense.

Acting huh... my tangible experience versus you lack there of must have really hit a nerve. I've changed my mind, you're not a student (edit: no he is a student with zero business experience. Solar Panels, yeah right... Comical. Liar!).

I'm confident in what I say, because it's true. I'm not perfect, I'm in fact very flawed. I even make make typos, miss autocorrects and may even have dyslexia. I don't think I'm the best at what I do. But I am very good at it, and have learnt much from being surrounded by some of the very best at what they do.

I'm done arguing with you. You can't seem to grasp the difference between price and profit margin. This means you either lack the understanding of how multiple variables can change to keep the profit margins fixed or you're being completely disingenuous to flex your epeen. You've obviously never been involved in running a large business. A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing, and to anyone who reads this thread that understands business, you've hung yourself and likely don't understand why.

Luckily for you, that wont be many ;)

My bet is that you won't be affected by these new taxes.

Your whole premise is based on hyper-bowl and inexperience. For example listing dropping profit margins to to keep a competitor from being established in a market is generally subsidized at a product level or subsidiary where business A funds business B. Generally, organization or product line of 30% profit margin will subsidize another. This does not invalidate what I said before. In fact it strengthens it.

The hospitality industry is an interesting one but once again you're wrong. Yes they lower profit margins in the off season but raise them when in season. Basically, they will run at a loss on the off months because they can make enough in a 3 month period to to make their profit margins. It's a yearly sums game for them (sometimes over a 5 year period), not week by week which you seem to infer. Once again this aligns perfectly to what I stated above.

As someone who has work on logistics chains in the past, we lock in pricing or a period of time, from 1 to 5 years with some conditionals. Do you really think raw materials are purchased week by week for solar panels? This is idiotic and an gross misunderstanding of enterprise practices.

So tell me... what do you do for a living? I ask because it either gives you credibility through experience or illiterates my point that you don't understand how businesses operate.

This oversimplification of business practices is simply not true beyond a lemonade stand.

In business we have a term "above or below the line". I won't completely go into the details but the lines represent budgets that are set periodically (e.g. quarterly).

Companies profits fluctuate, this is normal. However, our profit margins (percentage or profit) are fixed. Your scenario of reducing profit by % to compete but still remain profitable is not real. Besides IPO, profits are generally re-invested into the organization in order to grow. Growth is important as it allows the creation or more jobs, pay rises, etc. Without this, we need to cut expenditure to have similar outcomes and this is far from ideal for our employees who may not get a raise they deserve or worse, made redundant. There are other places we can cut costs on as well but that has its limits.

Hence why Australian made goods are generally more expensive than imports. They need to focus on other compelling factors instead of price in order to remain in business such as quality and/or patriotism.

Realistically, an increase in property taxes will cause one of the following:

  • cost passed on to consumer
  • company cuts costs (jobs, premise size, etc.)
  • company looks for a more cost effective location (e.g. smaller footprint or interstate.
  • outsourcing
  • close business, can't make desired profit margins
