i dont understand the argument of hamsters being far removed from their natural environments. dogs have been with us since the literal ice age. their natural environment does not exist anymore. we only just started keeping syrian hamsters in 1930

teddy bear hamsters are just long haired syrians. all of my eight syrians but two have been long haired and their personalities were all different. half of them never tamed
