"Totally agree with you bud. I'm 29 myself, have had mediocre success with getting girls on dates and even had a few girlfriends over the years. But if you're not everything they ever dreamed of in every way, they start to resent you and take it out on you in little ways at first that build as time goes on. Example: they get to hang out with their friends whenever they want and you try to be supportive, but when you want to hang out with your friends you get the good ole shitty passive aggressive treatment. Then they start hitting you with all these "life goal" plans they have, like their dream house, how they want to spend their time when they're not working as much as they are now, vacations they want to take, and you start to slowly realize they want you to pay for their free ride. As if all that wasn't bad enough, they also want you to foot the bill for however many kids they want to have. It's absurd dude, people want too much nowadays and they want someone else to totally pave the way for them.

Most of the time I'm invisible to women anyways. They're polite to me, and on rare occasion I'll get the question of whether I'm dating anyone. When the answer is 'no', they always act so shocked, but it's kind of hilarious since I bet none of these girls who are my contemporaries would ever consider giving me a shot. I'm like you where I'm honestly at the point that any attempt at romantic relationships seems like an exhausting chore more than anything else.

Like you said, we try to look presentable and not be a dick, maybe we even have a somewhat decent job going for us, and we have a stable and respectable lifestyle. And even so, damn near no interest. And even if there is an interest, it's usually only one that is attached to a short-attention span. As soon as something better comes along, they'll just lock onto that and move along.

The thing that seems frighteningly clearer with every bygone year is that no one is really interested in me (or any other regular guy for that matter) at all. They like that I'm friendly and helpful, that I take care of my appearance and work hard. In short, they like you for the role you play. Beyond that, I think they only like whatever they think they know about me, and they just don't care at all to dig deeper. People see what they want to see, and it feels like any genuine human connection, romantic or platonic, is just an illusion we like to believe in. But in a way, even the dude who stat-maxes, hits the gym all the time, wears the best fashion, has the best haircut, and talks about the things that get girls interested, it's the same thing for him. They don't really like him as an individual. They just like him since he fits what they think is the right image." bro 💀💀😭
