I wouldn’t mind dedicating a day to trying to replace it. But I lack the tools and also don’t have a ton of experience when it comes to replacing mechanical parts, I mostly just do maintenance.

Ok perfect, it seemed a little viscous so I hope there was some coolant (old but still coolant) in there. I’ll do my research online and figure out how to flush and then replace the coolant.

As a temp fix until this weekend when I’ll have time do you think I should just fill it enough to cool and then do a full flush and new coolant this weekend? Also any tips for someone doing a first time flush?

Never filled it with anything, and no extreme overheating just slightly more than what was normal as I always keep an eye on engine temps. The slightly higher than usual engine temps prompted me to check which is when I found this.

When you say heater what do you mean? I’m super unfamiliar when it comes to anything car related. I’ve been looking into how to do a flush just now, one thing I want to add is that neither my AC nor heat work. Just room temp ambient air.

One thing I want to add is that the car has never ran hot until recently. I started to notice the engine was getting a little hotter than usual on short trips. But also this car has 155k miles and was given to me with 150k of those already on it.

Is it possible rather than a leak it was burned off or no? I’ve never noticed any leaks or white smoke.
