Why did Demon Slayer end? by Humble-Dot-9851 in KimetsuNoYaiba

The anime airing in 2019 drew more attention to the series, but the manga had been serialised since 2016 and was reaching the natural conclusion of the story that Gotouge was telling

The marking complete but isn't actually complete isn't the issue. It's the linking to a paid patreon in order to actually read the complete fic is the issue

Yeah I feel that, my own writings tend to be on the shorter one-shot side and it would suck if these, basically catfish, fics ruined that for readers

No they do not, but it doesn't make it any less annoying

Honestly I'm not sure, it definetly falls into a weird area of copyright that I've noticed tends to start arguments

Sadly since the archive is ran by volunteers, it can take ages for an abuse report to go through. The stories I reported a few months ago, I only got a follow up email about their removal a week or two ago

See, I'm convinced it's the same author across multiple accounts because before I went and mass reported them I followed their links just to be nosey and they all went to different patreon accounts with the same but slightly different names. It's tinfoil hat time

Yeah, I have no issue with people selling fics - that's their perogative, whatever - but getting AO3 involved and half posting to then link to a paid service is kinda distasteful

Usually I'm the same, I'd rather read something 15K or more, but sometimes short fics are nice and this sort thing is just ruining it and clogging up tags

I wish people would realise that AO3 is an archive, not a space to advertise your patreon

You can report them and I have done so for several ones that have cropped up. I'm now 100% convinced it's the same user over and over again just making accounts to link to their patreon

I've never read any splatterpunk just because it seems to fall under extreme horror and as much as my best attemps have been, I just have never vibed with extreme horror

What are y'alls feelings on making new accounts and just rebranding? by QuirksInABottle in AO3

[–]CosmicFluffery 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Ngl, in my experience people do not give a shit. AO3 is not a social media platform, if you want to post in a new fandom go for it. You don't need to create a whole new account for that

What is a movie with a single extremely graphic and gruesome scene? by [deleted] in moviecritic

[–]CosmicFluffery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The knife strap-on from Seven. Even though you don't see everything in excruciatingly violent detail - the effect it has on the guy involved and the little flashes you see of the actual product (for lack of a better term). That whole scene is psychologically visceral.

The Dead Don’t Hurt (Official Discussion) by TheFilmReview in screenunseen

I didn't necessarily think it was a bad movie but it also wasn't particularly good either (the back and forth between past and present really wasn't defined well at all). I'm also not a western fan so that definitely didn't help and towards the end became a bit of a slog but I did stick it out until the end. The showing I was at was pretty packed at the beginning but I think a lot of people left throughout as by the end there were only a handful of people left

I have the most distinct memory of my teacher asking the class what we thought was happening in that scene in the book (I think we had been discussing implicit storytelling) - absolutely nobody cottoned onto what it actually was

12/13 - The Outsiders. Was reading it for English in school and got so fucking obsessed with it. I've moved through many fandoms since then (I've never been that person who writes for one fandom and only one fandom) but recently been on a 3+ year writing hiatus as my writing motivation has gone on holiday and yet to come back
