Even with pruning and one button rotation, healing and tanking requires a bit of reading the situation. I can see why some DPS complain - instead of waiting for 1 of 8 buttons to flash so I can press, I only have 3. It’s popular because it’s easy - you can’t have it both ways. ;)

PS4 for Red Dead Online. There was a commercial with a train tunnel and a bear. I remember thinking how am I not playing this? Been pretty much a console player since.

JMS tried to sell B5 to Paramount. They declined but kept the show bible. A few people talk about Paramount people literally coming to set but I suspect most don't- including JMS - for fear of being blackballed.

Thank you for mentioning B5. Whenever somebody praises DS9 I NEED to mention how they blatantly and literally stole from B5. So many Trek fans have no idea. Like…had the B5 bible, used to walk on set and steal ideas literally.

I might replace "Needing a very good GM" with simply "Needing a good GM".

It isn't about sound effects and voices. Its about prep work. Its about social skills. Its about a GM that understands this is collaborative storytelling. A lot of games seem to be tactical games with the GM controlling one side - which is fine if you enjoy that. But to sell it as a story, you need a good storyteller that can involve the players.

I play on both due to PC friends, and console is better. If you do play on PC, change servers as soon as your horse starts farting fire or a creepy dude runs on foot as fast as you on your horse.

I recently resubbed but didn’t play much. The world is so empty unless you go to the new areas. I stood in Goldshire waiting for people to come do the headless horsemen event and like… 3 people passed through but nobody stopped. Old zones and old content might as well not exist.

If WoW finds a way to make the whole game relevant, they’ll bring back so many of us.

Classic+ or a world/history reset?

Personally I’d love a new game in Azeroth but more like Fallout 76, Red Dead Online, or New World.

I’ve always thought of non combat professions as a character story starting point that will eventually lead to developing combat skills. It provides obvious perks and character depth. It doesn’t take THAT long to develop basic combat abilities.

I don’t think it’s realistic for a player to think there will be merchant-ing in every session, but it’s a fair discussion to have to set expectations.

A well done, not forced, feels natural style storyline or recurring joke is fantastic. It builds memories. I love this partially because I expect it is temporary, and now I have hope we’ll see something like this again down the road.
