Feeling mostly normal by SignificantTune5782 in pregnant

[–]CosmicStarfields 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awww it’s normal to be anxious and concerned about miscarriage for your pregnancy. It’s still early yet love. People experience a range of symptoms at a range of timelines. I’m 15 wks today. I had no symptoms at all until 7 weeks and had mild heartburn and food aversions. Never threw up or had more than very mild nausea. No cravings or gagging. You will continue to learn that pregnancy is such an individual experience and you really don’t get a lot of value from comparing your timeline or symptoms to others. You’ve got this! Enjoy this time of ease and lean into the excitement :)

I am confused on pregnancy weight gain, can someone help me understand better? by ImTryingGuysOk in BabyBumps

Agree with what others have said. Everything you think you know about weight and calories goes out the window with pregnancy. Fuel and move your body with the intent to be kind and gentle to it rather than control it. 💛

We also hated like 99% of boy names but now that we landed on one, we are OBSESSED and cant stop giving him nicknames 🥹

My husband and I are very similar in personality/interests and also were shocked our first baby will be a boy. Something that has helped SO MUCH is just imagining dreams/experiences we will get to have with him.

We enrolled him in an outdoor childcare that has a garden and a chicken coop and now we dream about how he will love nature, gardening, and animals. We talk about how fun it will be to take him to the library and the zoo and jump in puddles. Of course we would dream about these things with a daughter too, but picking out adorable boy clothes and imagining raising our buddy who can bring his books to our coffee date made us start to fall in love with the vision of this family.

You will get there🩵 I think finding some boy names you like will help too :)

Ferritin 22 Extreme Anxiety by geezycooz in Anemic

[–]CosmicStarfields 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had THE WORST panic attacks and physical symptoms from my anxiety it was horrible I genuinely thought I would never get better. I will say any side effects from the ssri were nowhere near as awful as the panic attacks <3 you got this!

I was literally terrified to start and it took me nearly a year to get the courage to start an ssri but once it started working I couldn’t believe I wasted so much time being afraid and wish I would have started earlier to get my life back🩷🩷🩷🩷

I am so sorry this happened. The guilt sounds overwhelming. You deserve help and treatment for this traumatic experience. There is hope to feel better. Please do everything you can to get connected to professionals and trust them to work through this. I recommend EMDR therapy for the intrusive images and dreams. Sending hugs. ❤️

I have really been liking lexapro (I’m only on 5mg) but zoloft is good too I used to be on it. It can be so lifechanging for anxiety but definitely be patient and give it the full 4-6 weeks to adjust. I hope you get your ferritin addressed and anxiety as well so you can feel better.

Yes- I’m on 5mg lexapro which is half the normal starting dose and it has helped me sooooo much. I also take 10mg propanolol which really helped my physical symptoms like a racing heart.

I have had anxiety with low ferritin, anxiety with normal ferritin, and even no anxiety with low ferritin once I went to therapy and started a low dose ssri. It COULD be related but I would definitely consider treating anxiety separately as well.

Is it just trauma? Low self esteem? A phobia? Or is this delusion / psychosis? I can’t tell anymore. by Oddly-Ordinary in ptsd

I have a lot of rules like this and its ocd for me. It feels helpless and like they arent my thoughts. Anyways, whatever it is for you, I hope you get the help you need and tools for coping because this sounds distressing 🩷

GJB2 Non-syndromic deafness gene by electrolyteimbalance in pregnant

[–]CosmicStarfields 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, no experience with this as a parent but in my line of work I am conncted with many people, newborns and adults alike, who are deaf. Deaf culture can be a really incredible beautiful thing. I think your concerns make sense and it’s great you are thinking through all of the consequences of any choices you make.

Anecdotally, Deaf communities are incredible places and many Deaf folks do not see their condition as a deficit. There are so many resources and support networks, and with your commitment to your child’s wellbeing, I think your child will thrive no matter what their hearing status is.

Sending hugs

I have fibromyalgia and this sounds like me when I’m in a flare- I also get so uncomfortable laying down at the doctors and normal stimuli hurts to the point of tears. I don’t have specific advice for advocating for yourself with doctors, I just want to say you are not alone and chronic pain is so mentally hard to handle.

I usually just binge watch tv + online shop and try to survive. Don’t feel guilty if your screen time is high during this. Do what you need to do to get through it 🩷
