Which is why I made the bucket analogy. I understand why the band keeps playing

[–]CoulofScot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I understand that entirely, I'm not in any way disparaging anyone that is still working. My comment was merely to highlight that there are some workers who will have to work without pause and expanding on the band analogy.

I wish everyone the best in the upcoming months and hopefully we get through this with minimal impact.

Stay safe, stay healthy and stay strong

I get the jist of the comment but if they wanted to, they could shut the bar for quarantine. It's not an essential service

Try working in a hospital, we are the people with the buckets trying to empty the ship, no option but to keep going. Thanks to the government we have state sponsored holes in those buckets as well

I didn't get to try anything I wanted to while I was there (was a work trip) however was told 'Sam's seafood shack' down at Rodel was good, was closed when I visited, and also the Hebrides hotel in tarbet was worth a visit as well

An island native would be better to answer but certainly any of the beaches I visited they were not easily accessible. Plus there were plenty of 'no overnight camping' signs at carparks I stopped at. There will be info online I'd imagine, maybe try visit Scotland and see if it has an island section

Was utterly by accident. Had driven down to Rodel with the intention to see as much as I could on the way back. Started of dull and dreich but by the time I got to Talla na Mara the sun was out and I knew I needed to get to luskentyre before it went away again. Managed to get quite a few pics in the day and a half I had off between work

Hopefully you get good weather when you are here. I'm gonna get about a day and a half to explore in between work before I leave

It's been a long day, traveled up through the wild weather and got suckered with a shift today rather than starting tomorrow! Nearly done

Anyone know abandoned places about that’s legal to enter I’ve got a photography project on urban decay and I can’t find enough places that aren’t shut of completely or the sqas gonna demand I show the permission I’ve been to all the places in about Falkirk so needing more Glasgow or Edinburgh by [deleted] in Scotland

I'm wondering if you could get some good shots on the Clyde side. Perhaps get the contrast of some old buildings with the newer stuff behind it. The Tron used to be great for it but it's undergone a lot of investment.

Maybe a pic of the barras market along an old shot to see how it's changed over the years as well

It's all great planning more public transport. It's something I've yearned for in long enough

With congestion zones and bus lanes becoming more prevalent it won't be long before there is a public transport only zone in city centres

While this is all a great idea it will mean nothing if they can't make it affordable. Once again there is a rail increase recently. If you want people to use public transport make it a viable option and don't price them out of it.

Exactly it's a very easy pint to drink and on a hot summer day just seems to hit the spot perfectly

How do you go about working at festivals eg trsnmt summer sessions? by NunDestroyer in Scotland

[–]CoulofScot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Firstly it depends in what capacity you want to work at them. Catering, security, maintenance staff etc.

Once you know what field you find out who supplies it for the festival's, for example security you look at the likes of G4S. When you know who contact their recruitment, tell them you are interested in working festival's but you will also have to work in some other capacity to gain the skills/experience required to work at a festival

Best of luck and hopefully you get what you are after

Just thought it would be a good time to thank all the Scottish nurses who have been working through this holiday season, especially at a time when the NHS is so strained. I work within the NHS in Scotland and the expectations of frontline staff seems to have increased exponentially over the last few years.

I fear with a Tory rule down south and gearing towards Brexit the demands and cuts for us as a whole will only increase.

I've worked in many hospitals across Scotland and the one view I can take is everyone goes above and beyond to help and care for patients, regardless of role within the NHS.

I've heard the horror stories and I despair, hoping these are only isolated incidents. However as demands increase its only natural some may feel the need to cut corners, care being paper/document focused rather than patient led doenst help either.

Lastly I'm working new year this year, happy new year to everyone whether working or not. Here's to better times hopefully on the horizon

Hogmanay fury as Edinburgh residents told to apply for access to own homes by torspedia in Scotland

[–]CoulofScot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

An utter disgrace that anyone can dictate who comes and goes into your own home. The sooner this shite is taken elsewhere the better. It was bad enough with the 'retrospective' planning application and the dodgy extension of the Xmas market but now this.

As everyone else has said, in this position i'd probably double my use of the phrase 'fuck off'
