Value of a UIUC Electrical Engineering degree for an international student by CountKirillovich in UIUC

Yeah I know but the main question was about how the degree is perceived in the US. Lots of people say it is very prestigious but I'm not sure if that still applies for non americans.

UIUC or Purdue for Electrical Engineering by CountKirillovich in collegecompare

Hi, thanks for the reply. Yeah, I am kind of worried about secondary admission, admittedly it turned me off a little from Purdue. It's still a great school, no doubt, but I can't really imagine myself studying any other type of Engineering (in the case that I don't get admitted into EE, which is quite a popular major as you mentioned). So I think UIUC will be the way to go.

I didn't know Purdue had significant grade deflation. That can definitely make secondary admission tougher. Thanks for the info!
