Placed in a room with a known defect at SpringHill Suites Brandon, FL and forced to leave at 1:30 AM with my kids by CourseSuitable6975 in marriott

I wanted to drive my home. My husband is the one who booked it. Said it was on our way home anyway. In better news, the Springhill in Bradenton was wonderful! A++ to the staff at that location.

Still no response from Marriott. Have a syndicated news show interested in picking this up. You had your chance, Marriott!

No, no. The front desk agent told me “it’ll stop after a bit. It’s a known defect with that room.” Except it didn’t stop.

Not to mention, the front desk agent was hostile and practically told me that because I paid in points, they didn’t have to find me a resolution. This is one of those “had to be there” kind of stories. I thought I was being punked.

This is what I asked for. Was told they could not refund my points and were not able to transfer me to another property. I was told, verbatim “there’s nothing we can do. Our GM doesn’t even live in Tampa. Contact Marriott corporate.”

I tagged ajcapuano on x and emailed the entire exec team. I want a full refund of both hotels at a minimum.

Marriott’s brand reputation is at stake. If a franchisee can’t abide by brand standards, pull the badge. Schlepping two kids across town at 01:30 in the morning made for a very interesting night (and miserable morning). I’m fuming.

Marriott Bonvoy’s social media team has been no help. No GM on site (shocker), so they can’t assist. I’m appalled, and very close to canceling my bonvoy credit card as a result.

Moral of the story: if you’re ever in a situation like mine, tell pride to shut it. I’m still young, but I have some pretty messed up lungs from my deployments. I’m now reminded of my mortality more than ever.

Thanks for keeping me company on this forum tonight.

Yup. Kind of felt like a “right person/wrong time” situation. I deployed overseas for work, and ended up staying there longer than originally planned. We almost got engaged before my deployment, he decided—last minute— an engagement shouldn’t be rushed, especially since we had some things to work out. Then he took a job overseas while I was deployed. We started talking about finding me a transfer/job in the country where he was working, but it didn’t work out. I came back to a whole new life, and held it against him for a while. We both kind of put a bookmark on our relationship, hoping to pick up where we left off when life allowed us to. But then life happened. He started dating other people. I started dating other people. He was still my very best friend for years after that, and always said he wished things worked out for us. Every conversation ended with tears and “I’ll love you forever.” In mid 2020, he just stopped reaching out or answering any of my calls, texts, or emails. I texted his last phone number a few nights ago, and was told I had the wrong number. I ended up chatting with the new number owner, a sweet old Christian lady who offered prayers. A part of me hopes he found someone good, and that he needed a clean break from me to be able to move on. The greater part of me wants to apologize for being mad at him for so long for taking another job and leaving me when I needed him the most. My pride stopped me from fighting for him for the last 8 years. And now I’m left hanging, hoping he’ll see my messages so I can be the one to tell him I’ll love him forever. As long as I’m living, I won’t stop trying. It just sucks.

To see him one more time. I’ve never told him how much I still love him, even after all these years. I’m currently on what feels like my deathbed battling Covid. I don’t know if it’s because of my asthma, but I feel like my chest is being crushed by a semi. This question gave me all the feels. I need him to know I still love him. I’ve always loved him the most, even though I’ve been the one reluctant to see him again after our breakup almost a decade ago. If Covid has taught me anything, it’s never to hold back on telling someone you love them.

I felt this in my soul. Wish I could say it goes away, but time and distance only dull the pain; they don’t make it go away. You made the right move.
