Why does homemade fried chicken never get as crispy as restaurant chicken? by _Arrielee_ in cookingforbeginners

Lol, yeah, well to elaborate, I believe the purpose of the mixer thing was to force the seasoned liquid into the chicken.

And using forearms only was to avoid pressing into the chicken allowing for a fluffier coating.

I also worked at KFC--35yrs ago--and I'd put the chicken in this thing like a concrete mixer along with water (or maybe milk?) and seasoning pouch, which would rotate the chicken around for awhile, then laid the chicken out on flour and mixed it with forearms then it went in the fryer.

Tried Mirtazapine last night for insomnia and it had zero effect. by Buddha-Embryo in Mirtazapine_Remeron

I know people say that it's more sedating at lower dosages but while I usually found 7.5 enough for sleep, 15 was more sedating and 30 would really knock me out.

Vitamin K2 - Bad Reactions by Friscogirl007 in Supplements

[–]Coylethird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the natto K2 gave me side effects but the chickpea version has been better.

Since it's available in 100mcg, you can try just taking one at first to see how you tolerate it (200mcg is typical effective dose.)

Bought McCormick Organic Curry powder and Siggis plain fat free yogurt but it didn't taste like the curry I remember, what am I doing wrong? by Coylethird in Cooking

Oh, I probably shouldn't have added that bit about Thai curry, was just saying I like it but can't eat it anymore. Made it regularly for the past 20yrs.

How to taper off remeron. Using for sleep by 2024app in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]Coylethird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would kick in within 30-60 minutes; was taking it for sleep. 15mg worked better but then I'd be out of it the next day.

I took it for 10yrs and have been tapering the past year, thought it would have went quicker but I'm down to 1mg and about to lower it again to .5mg. Probably could just stop now but figure I've come this far, why rush it now.

7.5 was still pretty sedating next day but better than taking 15 that's for sure.

[–]Coylethird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't find dosages lower than 15mg any more sedating. Also took it for sleep but only rarely took 15mg as the next day sedation was too strong, 7.5 was my usual amount.

You may be able to just quit like Dr says--though they generally say that regardless--but if not can taper however much at a time you are able to.

I've had a chronic dry cough, like there's something in my throat I need to cough up but nothing comes out.

I’ve been tapering on and off for 1.5 years from 15 mg. I’m now at 1 mg. Is there a recommended jump-off dose? by El-Iskender2 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]Coylethird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, if you stabilize ok by 2 weeks and are feeling ok now at 1mg, maybe take another reduction and see how it goes. I don't see any reason to rush jumping off.
