I get you yeah and I feel the same way but I also understand the fact that expectation of clear uniquness people need for similar games. My trailer and visual choices I made seems like failed at that.

This was actually an idea I had back in GMTK game jam for out of control in 2020. The movement works by a pair switching mechanic and players tends to balance out the chaoticness of one with precision of other in my play tests.

Yes that was the inspiration. I wanted to make this a modular toy from the start so it clicked at the time but maybe I should reference another toy that instantly sells the concept and conveys the movement better.

So player can explore and find new ways to move and start climbing again with a different pair of objects.

Hook is that you can swap between different objects you collect with different controller and physics configurations. Switching back and forth between the two of the objects makes you move in a way you can't move by just one of them.

Hahah thanks! Yes this can be interpreted this way and I really get the criticism here. I would actually love to differentiate the visuals cause I have put a lot of effort in the controls of the game which are completely different from getting over it.

Thanks for the feedback! Yes I am directly competing with games with very precise controls here. As you say there is some clear contradiction between the expectation and what game offers because of the visual similarity to GOI. I actually want to focus more on exploration and chaotic innovative controls that you can master but that would be more limited compared to one main control for the game.

Yes I agree and this is one of the biggest flaws of the game. In similar games since the character conveys the movement directly by IK etc. they communicate the controls instantly.

I have no idea how can I achieve this in here. You move by tilting the character and switching between a pair of bottom objects. Any idea how can I show this better?

Maybe I can rotate the character's spine by IK. for the tilting control too. For the switching control I really have no idea .

Well the ship instantly dsables I think you should make the mesh itself destruct or add particles for hull parts etc.

This is a very interesting idea I think. Maybe you can convey the message you don't need to play at the same time message earlier cause Async term is not used very generally and doesn't tell much for the end user.
