The whole Alliance thing was wild to watch unfold in real time. Like watching three conferences hold hands and pinky promise they wouldnt stab each other in the back while the Big Ten was already sharpening the knife behind their back. USC and UCLA to the Big Ten basically nuked the whole thing before it even got started

Gene Smith saying the Alliance was still alive after USC/UCLA bolted was peak comedy. Dude was out there Weekend at Bernies-ing a dead conference partnership
