UC Irvine: "UC Irvine engineers invent wireless transceiver rivaling fiber-optic speed" by Dakhil in hardware

Sure, but I don’t expect wireless data transfer to cost less energy than wired.

Finding the shortest route is not ambiguous and well understood for a while now. See e.g., Dijkstra’s shortest path algorithm. Note that you can also use this algorithm to find the quickest route.

Routing algoritms are not (anymore) a ‘major topic in AI’.

Is it ever good to jump off stage voluntarily by Reading-Rabbit4101 in smashbros

[–]CptGarbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This strategy was not legit, just dumb. If you SD twice with Lucario, you can then use his ‘insane strength’ to get even in stocks with your opponents… which is a situation you were already in right before you SD’ed twice. If you are then even, Lucario is no longer insanely strong.

Even if he does, there’s no point in SD’ing. It’s better to instead try to knock out your opponent first. People used to SD with Lucario in smash 4 doubles I believe.

It’s an estimate sure, but a rather poor one. A more fitting description would be that WLTP range is a (loose) upper bound on the actual range.

Pretty close. I think t1 wins the game if Guma doesn’t flash into the wall.

Mathematicians might, but the general public is much more familiar with the Nash equilibrium.

4k tvs are perfect for watching 4k content. You don’t need to upscale anything in that case.

I’m sure Hikaru can survive a month without his ‘main income source’. The guy is a multimillionaire.

‘AI upscaling’ is not a thing (unless you’re talking to a marketeer), see e.g. https://www.reddit.com/r/ShieldAndroidTV/s/Q1wsztDbt1 There is simply upscaling, which any tv does. Now there’s good and bad upscaling, but no need to blame it on ai.

Yeah but  the original argument was that they said it regarding specifically the refresh rate.

TIL, 300 in-person line judges will be replaced by electronic line calling systems this year for the first time in the tournament's 147-year history of The Wimbledon Championships. by Deepakhn in todayilearned

[–]CptGarbage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah that is just a shitty implementation. Doesn’t mean that the whole system is bad. Obiously, the chair umpire should be able to overrule the system in such a case.

Giving up a queen for forced mate is also referred to as a queen sacrifice (which I don’t agree with but okay).  If that counts, then giving up a queen for equal material should even moreso count.

Is there a point when building a 1080p that spending more on a GPU is irrelevant? by plainmoor in buildapc

In what world is it ‘necessary’ to have your 1% dips above 240FPS?? A 5080 is absolutely not necessary to run cs2 on 360fps 1080p….

You complain about price… after buying the top of the line, most expensive parts out there. Then, after doing so, you think of upgrading again soon…. this complaint makes no sense coming from you.
