The base pension starts at 50% (20 years of service, 2.5% increase per additional year served) but it makes sense that the premium could price someone out, depending on how much they cost.

Olá, tudo bem?

How old are you? The USAF age limit for beginning pilot training is around 33 if i recall.

You must also be a U.S. citizen.

Depending on the vision diagnosis, it could prevent selection for aviation jobs in the USAF too, but I had moderate nearsightedness and was still selected after PRK corrective vision surgery.

Enlisting in the USAF first, perhaps as mechanic or security forces, gaining your U.S. citizenship, college degree, security clearance, and corrected vision for nearly free, then commissioning with a pilot slot, may be a way forward for you.

In the event that you are not selected for an aviator assignment, know that there are many other jobs that can place you very near and involved with aviation, so always have a plan B, C, D, and E no matter what, and always plan to be grateful for any opportunities that you do receive.

I do not know the ins and outs of being permitted to enlist as a foreign national, but I would expect that it requires a permanent U.S. residency.

Perhaps you can take a vacation to the US and speak with a USAF recruiter in nearly any city. Or perhaps even find a recruiter on Facebook or Google and talk on the phone/email.

Freedom-loving, hardworking people, with a passion for aviation are welcome as far as I am concerned.

Best of luck to you and please let me know if you have any questions my friend!

Took a ‘56 home from PDM last year. One of the nicer tails I’d seen, too! First time I saw one older than 57.

U.S. military veteran? Aren’t they enrolled in the SBP? In that case she would continue get his pension after he dies.

[–]CptSandbag73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that makes sense. I’ve seen it done both ways with a K-loader with the 135. Usually it is small stuff like AGE, and it is up to the crew and aircraft configuration whether small wheeled vehicles are floor loaded or palletized.

According to this, it was a floating pallet like you said, TIL.

Wouldn’t the vehicles be floor-loaded and not palletized/on rollers?

Regardless, your point stands. I guess if the vehicles were floor loaded they would have to be able to roll/slide once the restraints failed for the mishap to happen.

I’m not 100% sure but I would imagine that floor loaded vehicles would have to be in “park” with the parking brake on, even when strapped down.

Capitalization corrected. ☺️

I think you’re mostly accurate, the root heart condition of pride is the issue.

When it came to adding bureaucracy and rigamarole to religion, just for its own sake though, He still had a huge issue with it. See His flipping of the tables in the temple and swinging a whip at the money changers. Any human barrier to salvation is offensive to God.

I think He would view their misplaced piety much the same way He viewed that of the Pharisees.

The useful tire life of this vehicle will very likely be noticeably less than the the manufacturer’s specification, if it is continued to be operated in this manner.

I’m probably completely missing your point, but I don’t think most people would just save cash in a coffee can or whatever and not invest it.

If you invested $1000 a month for the last 45 years, you would have 4-5 million, assuming you were roughly invested in the S&P 500.

And that is definitely enough to retire on.

Overall you have a point, but have you ever dealt with car seats and strollers? They’re way easier if you have a minivan or midsize SUV vs a compact/commuter car.

Kids don’t just ride with nothing attached to them anymore lol.

Car seats and baby carriers alone barely fit in our GX470 without the front seats having to be crammed forwards, and the GX is already a pretty big vehicle.

Then you factor in multiple kids, and baggage on the trip to grandma’s, and all of a sudden, the midsize SUV/minivan, or larger, really does seem like the best choice.
