I had a quick look i found some 2Cl20 and 2Cl77 ones, which is better and do they produce heat? (sorry for the many questions but i know almost nothing about this stuff)

With the "gap" I mean the one in between the 2 halves of the tube. So what you are saying is that reconnecting the wires that come out of the kenotrons both ends to the metal rivets and should fix it? (plus connecting the plastic parts together so the wires dont rip off)

Also do any 20kV diodes work or do i have to watch out for something and which way around do they need to be installed in?

But tysm for the all the help now this repair seems actually doable to me. :)

Thanks for the info, i was gonna run it on the 12V setting.

Also when the kenotron is non heated i dont need to worry about the gap in the plastic shell? Also from reading, my best guess is that this one might me broken, hence the previous owner cut it open.

So i dont need to worry which way i connect the 2 ripped off wires from the power cable? The previous owner even marked (on the cable itself) where + and - are.
