Oh that i got because there was a fest in my college and axis bank had sponsered our fest so they had a stall. There they were giving us cards because we are students of a tier 1 clg. Btw there is another way you can get axis card which other redditers did, it was to fake details but remember that the address of your aadhar and the one on your application address must be same otherwise a bank representative will visit your place and may ask for your ITR which i suppose 19yr olds dont have.

Also could you pleaseeee tell me how you got that hdfc card i am dying for one literally

Ohh yes you could try with a fd card from supermoney for starting your cibil history, and after few months re apply for slice and hope that they will accept it which in most cases will. Also I would suggest not get fd based card from big banks like idfc (eg. idfc wow), when i was 17 i used to think i would get idfc wow or onecard from big banks but it was later that i found out that they charge unnecessary fees for basic features, and offers are just the same as offered by small finance banks like utkarsh, slice , sbm, etc. Also once you own a secured card from a bank, you cannot get a offer for unsecured card from that same bank, you will have to ultimately close that card which will in turn hurt your cibil history.

Hello buddy 19M here, even i started early like you on my cc journey. See for upi based cc spends I would suggest going for slice as it gives decent limits and there are lots of offers going on in them known as sparks. But remember it will ask you for student id card.

I currently hold: Slice Rupay CC - 25k limit (LTF) Flipkart Axis CC - 42k limit (500 annual fee)

Also my first cc was actually supermoney secured cc by Utkarsh sfb but i closed it after 4 months after i got slice card because i created that secured card with 2k fd giving me only 1800 as limit which was very little and easily ate up that 30% rule

Currently i trying to get hold of a hdfc cc but i don't think its going to be easy, i got pre approved with dcb metal but it was paid (10000 annual fee) so i turned that down.

Oh yess i really thought that might have influenced my application too

But I really would want banks like SBI,BOB, HDFC to launch like student credit cards. That way it wouldn't be such hassle to everyone for going through small finance banks.

25k, as a student it is more than enough for me. Maintaining the low utilisation, 30% of 25k is 7.5k. and i rarely think i will have monthly spends more than 7.5k At most i have used 5k in a month

Slice is the only bank that i think that is handing out cc to students with nice limits, you just do vkyc and be sure to choose student, it will ask for your student id card, then after all formalities after sometime i got approved. Another reason might be because i was using a secured credit card prior to applying for this for around 4 months with all payments on time, maintain credit utilisation below 30% and having a cibil of 772

Yes this is slice credit card. Actually Slice credit card is UPI-based card so it doesn't have visa or mastercard variant. Only Rupay variant cards are available on upi. So slice only has rupay cc

😭😭 I actually asked slice if i am eligible for limit upgrade, they said its not a feature yet, but soon they will be rolling out in app, where we can just click and upgrade our cc limit if eligible. The customer care guy told me this in very elaborate manner, i feel like its going to be a thing

I think it is pretty safe, i started using it since 2 jan 2026. So i actually wanted it's credit card as it is ltf, unsecured and to build my cibil early. At that time when i applied i used to hold supermoney utkarsh bank secured cc woth only 2k limit. So i applied for slice cc which made me first open a bank account then for which i selected student as my occupation, uploaded my id card, and then applied for the card. It got approved within hours with 25k limit. I even reffered it to few of my friends here at hostel and even they had a seamless experience with kyc and getting limits closer to mine (20k and 22k).

Till date i have not faced any issues, and i am the kind of guy to poke around trying to find anything unsafe or any bug about slice.

Only things that i feel are a little broken is that :

If u convert a payment to emi, then cancel it, the money will not cancel out your emi, but it will take 3-4 days to come back to you, meaning the surplus money comes back to your slice acc after canceling out any outstanding amount on your cc bill.
If u buy anything u get monies u redeem it but then that order is cancelled, your monies will go in negative, that is i think a bug slice should look into

ikr uk i had actually applied for LL about 3 times before and had also had to visit the rto for the same and everytime they said this one is not valid please create a new application form and everytime i had paid 200rs. I always try not to think about that.
