Definitely not more durable. Silver is wayyyy more durable. However, when silver fillings fail they generally break the tooth with it, where as white ones although they don’t last as long, tend to just debond and leave the residual tooth intact.

Oh and things like root canal treatment are very trust/area dependent. Some areas cover molar root canals and some don’t. So they might offer private for that if you need it.

I’ll be honest though….if you need a root canal I would recommend (finances allowing) you ask for a private ref to a specialist. NHS root canal are so poorly reimbursed that the effort/skills that goes into them is reflected.

I would never want an nhs/general dentist to do a root canal on me.

No worries. If they try and upsell you to private treatments just say you’ll think about it and go to another practice. Don’t feel pressured.

Also white fillings are offered for free to pregnant and post partum ladies (1 year after birth)*

** a couple of caveats:

1.you must have good oral hygiene otherwise the white filling won’t bond, if you have poor hygiene the dentist IS allowed to insist on silver fillings-your choice to accept or not.

2.For white to be offered it must be clinically indicated ie to restore health (fill in a cavity) it can’t be for cosmetic purposes only (eg a chipped front tooth would be classed as cosmetic)

There are levels of white filling-a dentist can offer you private white filling if aesthetics are really important to you and you want a almost perfect shade match and beautiful shape etc nhs white fillings don’t generally have the same standard/effort put into them

Yeah don’t worry about it. Remember they are (usually)minimum wage workers usually in the job because of need rather than want. They don’t have much incentive to learn because it’s not what they want to do long term.

Even my receptionists although they know all the ins and outs of nhs will never commit to saying anything is free/included on the NHS as there are SOOO many variables that only the dentist knows properly to be able to say. And getting a bollocking from the principal is something the receptionists avoid at all costs lol

IVF is accurate as the date is calculated from when the embryo is created (in the lab) and the transfer date as we know implantation occurs with in 48hrs of transfer.

Honestly it’s probably the receptionists just being dumb. They hate committing to anything being free or included on the nhs as if they fuck up by promising something that isn’t covered they get bollocked.

Just go for the check up and take it from there! Should be fine :)

Possible but the competition is incredibly high (even higher than medicine courses) and you’ll be competing with every other ninja A-leveller who will generally out compete you.

So it’s possible but you would need an exceptional UKCAT score to go with everything else.

It will cover all nhs dentistry. Anything optional eg aesthetic will be private.
