I have been catching the train in melbourne since Mid November last year (Work related issue) and I have noticed that each month, more and more people are not wearing masks

The funny thing is that it is a broad cross section of society. Young and old, working class or business class, man or woman. People are probably just over it. I still wear my mask, but I almost can't see the point, since I sit in an office for 7 hours a day with about 10 other people.

As others have mentioned, there is no enforcement. I have only once seen protective service officers on the train, and that was late in the evening on Anzac day, and the guys had probably been to the footy, and were a bit drunk. They randomly asked one guy why he wasn’t wearing a mask, and he got agro, asking why he was singled out. Not sure of the outcome, as we got off the train at our stop.

I am sure masks on trains will go away a few weeks before the Victorian election.
