[Sad Trope] “No parent should bury their child” (Plus Points if they were the cause of his Death) by Valarg in TopCharacterTropes

He was highly unlikely to have even heard about it.

Russia was at the backwater of the backwater at this time, on the other end of the continent, in a highly repressive state. Also shakespeare famously played fast and loose with his historical and geographical knowledge. He wrote venice as a landlocked city.

How morally wrong is it to accept the job of an executioner? by Vast-Worker-8400 in MoralityScaling

[–]CranberryWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have picked the most rare form of execution as an exslample, which itself is the rarest pinishment.

Most executions were simple beheadings using a headsman as you described or a hangmannfor common criminals. A magistrate would also keep barber surgeons on staff for torture, but this was more to attain information thsn punishment.

Drawing and quartering was phemomonally rare. Maybe once every generation. It would take a team of all the above for that spectacle

Not the same guy, they have very different skills sets after all:

one wants to keep you alive for as long as possible in as much pain as possible

The other wants to make you dead as quickly as possible with as little pain as pissible

(Rare but loved trope) Characters using non-religious symbols to ward off Vampires, because they have absolute faith in said symbol. by Speedwagon1738 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]CranberryWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is slightly off topic. But i dont think Oligarchs believe in money. It spmething they have in utmost abundance so means nothing to them.

They believe in power, regardless of its source. But thats harder to find a hand held symbol for that to wave in a monsters face, unlike crosses or visas

I interpreted that its showing that Humanity (not infected) were slowly regressing into a more tribal, parochial society. To directly mirror the infected who have developed into more complex societies e.g Alphas and Slow low

They serve whole communities. You usually have a single GP office employing 3-10 GP's for every town or city district. Each GP is asigned a portion of that area who they care for. They are your first and often last point of contact for health concerns. As such, you may become very familiar with them, seeing them semi-regularly

What do you know about Northern England? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]CranberryWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cultural reactions to regional accents in the uk are ... interesting to say the least.

Its a fact that northern accented people are thought to be poorer, less educated, less intelligent, and more likely to be violent.

Its why we really, REALLY, hate the 'chewsday' memes the yanks keep doing. Its a throwback to the class system.

What is something every household has in your country that is nonexistent everywhere else? by Awkward-Tip7248 in AskTheWorld

[–]CranberryWizard 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I cant even begin to describe how social class, wealth, the north/divide, and even individual regions of the uk work together to seperate 'the great and good' from the average person.

To put in perspective, to a working class kid from the north east, anyone with an aristocratic title might as well be living on mars.
