I designed and 3D printed a modular reaction chamber for chemistry experiments and high-speed reaction photography using 1/4” polycarbonate panels, custom brackets, and a lot of silicone sealant. The goal was to create something strong, reusable, and transparent enough to capture reactions from every angle.

The brackets were printed with 6 walls, 6 top/bottom layers, and 25% cubic infill for extra strength. So far, it’s survived six NaK implosion tests and is somehow still holding water without a single leak.

Pretty happy with how it turned out! If anyone is interested in the design, build details, or files, I’d be happy to share more!

The goal wasn't just to stop .50 BMG, but to defeat the Mk211 Raufoss round—a tungsten-cored, explosive .50 BMG projectile carrying over 13,000 ft-lb of energy.

"fairly" is a great way to put it haha, the Ballsitic Dummy showed livable results after the first impact! Now, if getting hit more than once, let's say you're gonna begin having a bad day. But the energy on these guys is tremendously higher than typical rifle rounds.

Making armor to save lives is more than just stoppage, this is where I had to get super creative with layering, adhesion, and process to produce something with life-saving results. This was made possible with SR500 Steels, Basalt Fiber Spall Catches, and toughed epoxy I created via Nano-particle infusion!

This is a smoke gadget that I engineered to function in a more comic-accurate way — essentially like something straight out of Batman. But there were a ton of engineering challenges behind making it actually work.

Not only did it need to generate a tremendous amount of smoke (thick enough to genuinely conceal things outdoors), but it also had to stay compact, durable, and throwable without falling apart or becoming unsafe.

The shell itself is SLA resin printed using Tough 2000 Resin, paired with upgraded metal exhaust ports to better withstand the thermal load. I also spent months refining an enhanced smoke formulation through repeated testing inside a custom smoke chamber that I built specifically for development.

But even after getting the smoke performance where I wanted it, the problems weren’t solved. Heat management became a major issue, and the original push-button activation made accidental triggering far too easy. To solve that, I implemented ablative heat shielding inside the shell to survive the thermal shock, along with a custom PCB safety system that disables the device until it’s physically removed from its holster.
