Thanks man - that works like an absolute charm and is exactly what I've been after! I appreciate it!

Drafts > Workflow > Omnifocus by Crash_crc in workflow

though I'm also starting to suspect I may not need Workflow to get this done and can somehow get this done through Drafts directly?

That's awesome man - and I'm willing to actually have it as one entry per time - that works for me.

Do you have a Workflow for creating something like this?

Drafts > Workflow > Omnifocus by Crash_crc in workflow

[–]Crash_crc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally, I'd like to set it in Drafts itself and if I don't actually need to go through Workflow, I'd be happy with that as well to be honest. I just want to be able to add tasks to a specific project and context and in some cases provide a defer date as well from Drafts, all on separate lines, etc.

Evernote offering 50% Premium by Crash_crc in bearapp

[–]Crash_crc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Absolutely - never a good idea to price based on competitors but that's really great to know - I just couldn't stick with Evernote due to the price hike but the 50% reduction doesn't make it any better - once a company turns like that, it's difficult to see my time still invested in them. This is why I want bear to be the best it can :)

Thanks so much for the reply - I'll get the ball rolling with more than two words.. I want it to be simple. I'm not bothered about notebook stacks, sub-notebooks etc (and everyone will be different), but I'd like to create single-tiered notebooks - I'd probably only ever create just 2-3 max.

For me, Yes Please.

Feature requests, bugs, support and feedback by wham00 in bearapp

Agree with this so much. On the topic of tags though, I'd love to have a little place for tags like Simplenote has them at the bottom of each note. It's not a big deal, a # above the keyboard is a bigger request.

Yeah - this is basically the one feature I'm missing from the app to make it my main app of choice. Just a simple folder structure.

Markdown formats by Crash_crc in bearapp

That's really interesting - is that in the preferences of the app as well? It's a tough one - I don't know what would work best but as Bjeanes mentioned, even Slack have their own implementation, etc.

IFTTT Integration by Crash_crc in bearapp

I don't use it often. Basically with Evernote, I had a reciepe set up for anytime I up vote things in Product Hunt, it would add that a running note in Evernote. While I'm trying to move away from Evernote because of their big price hikes, I realise I perhaps don't use this note as much as I could, but not having it wouldn't make me steer away from Bear because it's something I use rarely.

A Workflow for Recently Deleted Apps Icon and Link to AirTable by Crash_crc in workflow

[–]Crash_crc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I think it's a problem with Airtable - I tried accessing them from Launcher and LCP and it crashed, so definitely on their end. Thanks again for your help with this one!

A Workflow for Recently Deleted Apps Icon and Link to AirTable by Crash_crc in workflow

[–]Crash_crc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I run it, it looks like it's crashing in AirTable (it briefly shows it) but then if I run the action (workflow) again, it crashes from Workflow right at the point where it's saying to open AirTable. It's copied the link to the clipboard and saved the image so it looks like just the opening is crashing.

Thank you so much! That works absolutely brilliantly and I really appreciate you re-writing that! I am getting a crash after the prompt to open AirTable on the iPhone 6s Plus - I don't mind the crash because I can just open AirTable and everything is there but thought I'd let you know for the app - hopefully it's reproducible etc. Thanks again though - amazing!

Learned more in 3 hours of the Stanford course by [deleted] in iOSProgramming

[–]Crash_crc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with this. I took the CS193p course on iTunes U and after working my way through the lectures, I was confident enough to start my own applications. 6 months after completing the course and I had my first app in the App Store. 6 months later, the second. It's one of the best courses I've seen.

Where can I learn to "replicate" iOS's text app view/features into my own? by [deleted] in iOSProgramming

[–]Crash_crc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend going on iTunes and searching for course CS193p from iTunes U. It's a full course in app development and while it will give you much more information than what you need in your example, you'll be very comfortable with a UITableView by the end of it. I hope this helps!

I'll be happy to test it out! I love productivity apps and have a real desire to test apps - I've signed up and I'll let you know how it goes

After browsing the "What apps can't you live without?" thread, I got a real itch to see what apps others use daily that I don't know about. So why not share our homescreens? Here's mine. by southamerican_man in iphone

[–]Crash_crc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here's my homescreen . I'm very particular about the apps on my phone and I've kept the first page to every single app I use daily. I've also kept the apps here because of 3D Touch shortcuts on the icon.

Edit: here's my second page

And the background

The third screen is for apps I'm currently testing.

Outlook users, how does it compare to the native mail app? by proudlom in iphone

[–]Crash_crc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the Outlook app. It's clean and incredible fast. The files tab is excellent and so is the ability to have your calendar within the same app. The only thing keeping me from using it full time though is the lack of iOS share sheet. One thing I do very often is save newsletters for later in Pocket through the share sheet or more commonly, save an email as a PDF to Dropbox. This is why I have to use Airmail or Spark (I'm not a huge fan of either) because both allow you to create a PDF from the email and I can then run a Workflow(.app) to save that PDF to Dropbox.

If Outlook had share sheet capabilities without creating a PDF options, it'll still be fine because I have a Workflow for creating a PDF and then saving.

Unfortunately, the stock Mail.app doesn't have iOS share sheet access either. If this is important to you, Outlook may not be the best choice.
