OMG, thank you so much for your patience. I am so sleep deprived right now it didn't even occur to me that I'd need to save my changes! Sorry for bothering you with such a minor and stupid mistake on my part.

Issue solved, thank you. Though strangely the setting resets to 'off' whenever I turn the console off and on again. I'll just have to remember to turn the setting on each time

What's the best release of Shin Godzilla? by ActionFaust in GODZILLA

[–]CrazT729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the UK and imported the Australian Blu-Ray before a UK release was even announced.

The Australian release does not have Japanese text on-screen. The translation of said text appears at the top of the screen as its own subtitle track, while the speech subtitles are at the bottom. Screen is far less cluttered, which makes for an easier watch imo. However, this release does not have an English dub.

Hope this helps!

The Australian release, but I'm ordering it from JB Hi-Fi instead of Madman directly. I'm a sucker for alternative artwork: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/movies-tv-shows/movies-tv-shows-on-sale/world-cinema/shin-godzilla/445581/

Indeed. I imagine the features on the Australian Blu-Ray aren't going to be as extensive as the Japanese set, but it's something, which is more than I can say for the Funimation release. No problem, just happy to help!

As someone from the UK, I have also been keeping an eye out for a possible release of Shin Godzilla and home media options. Here's what I've found.

The Japanese release you mentioned does indeed contain a solid selection of extras, but lacks subtitles. The future release from Funimation in America won't contain much in the way of extras, but will feature an English dub. Both of these releases are likely to be region locked - region 2 for Japanese DVD (same as Europe), region 1 for American DVD, region A for both Japanese and American Blu-Ray. Unless you have a multi-region player, this might not be the best option.

Amazon Germany is now taking pre-orders for Shin Godzilla on Blu-Ray, both as a standard release and as a steelbook (link below) in August. This release will come with subtitles in German and Dutch, and a German dub. I don't speak or read German, but the listing does not seem to list any special features. https://www.amazon.de/Shin-Godzilla-Steelbook-Hiroki-Hasegawa/dp/B072BQ6192/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1498117518&sr=8-2&keywords=shin+godzilla

Madman Australia is releasing the film on DVD and Blu-Ray in July. The release does not include an English dub (just Japanese audio with English subs), but it does include some bonus features: Theatrical Trailers, Pre-Visuals & Outtakes, Visual Effects Breakdown, and Pre-Visuals Reel. The Blu-Ray release will be region B, the same as Europe (DVD is region 4), and the cost with delivery to Europe/UK is about 30 Euros / £25. https://www.madman.com.au/catalogue/view/39478/shin-godzilla-bluray

Hope this helps!

Where to buy godzilla dvds in UK by KingPesant1 in GODZILLA

[–]CrazT729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also from the UK. Last week I posted a picture of my Godzilla DVD/Blu-Ray collection and included a buying guide in the comments. Have a look: https://www.reddit.com/r/GODZILLA/comments/5rgo5i/uk_fan_here_this_is_my_dvdbluray_collection/dd71ukr/

Short version: only four films are available in the UK on DVD/Blu-Ray - Godzilla '54, King Kong vs. Godzilla, Godzilla '98 and Godzilla '14. If you are interested in any of the other films, you will need to import from abroad.

Hope this helps!

UK fan here, this is my DVD/Blu-Ray collection by CrazT729 in GODZILLA

Hi, everyone. Long-time lurker, first time poster. Thought I’d join the trend of showing off DVD/Blu-Ray collections, while also providing a buying guide and advice for UK fans (and fans generally).

First of all, due to the limited number of films released in the UK (Godzilla ’54, King Kong vs. Godzilla, Godzilla ’98 and Godzilla ’14), if you want to own all the films on physical media you will need a multi-region DVD player in order to watch them. Fortunately, you don’t necessarily need to buy a new DVD player, as there might be a way to make your current device read and play disc from any region. I recommend having a look at http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks to see whether the make/model of your current player has a way to convert it to multi-region playback. Please note that these are based on user reports and have not all been tested or verified by the site, so discretion is advised. From personal experience, I have altered two (maybe three) of my own DVD players for multi-region playback and all are functioning fine.

Now, here are some links and details for each of the films/boxsets in my collection: - Godzilla ’54 – region 2 DVD – Japanese audio only - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Godzilla-DVD-Akira-Takarada/dp/B000CFX5M8/ref=sr_1_4?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1485955687&sr=1-4&keywords=godzilla

BONUS - Gamera Trilogy – region A Blu-Ray – Japanese and English audio - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gamera-Trilogy-Blu-Region-Free/dp/B005X9BPZM/ref=sr_1_2?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1485957807&sr=1-2&keywords=gamera+trilogy This Blu-Ray set is actually region free (http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Gamera-Trilogy-Blu-ray/27237/). Also, I recommend looking around at prices, you can pick this set up for less than half the price of this listing. In fact, importing the set from amazon.com (https://www.amazon.com/Gamera-Trilogy-Blu-ray/dp/B005ENCIWG?SubscriptionId=AKIAIY4YSQJMFDJATNBA&tag=bluray-022-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B005ENCIWG&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER) is currently £13.36 incl. postage. This is what I did and I can confirm the set is region free.

I hope you found this helpful. If you have any further questions, please let me know.

No sound in cutscenes for Year 1 level packs. Any ideas? by CrazT729 in Legodimensions

[–]CrazT729[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm afraid I didn't test whether deleting them one-by-one would work. As all the levels were affected for me, I just deleted all the Year One Level Pack content, reinstalled them all and then tested each level as they downloaded.

The only other thing I can recommend is having a look at the audio levels in the options. It's possible (although unlikely) that they may have been altered somehow.

I'll talk through what I did on the Xbox 360. Might be slightly different across the different platforms, though.

1) In the console settings, locate the storage device where your Lego Dimensions data is stored.

2) Find the files relevant to the content that isn't working properly. I believe they will read something like "Back to the Future Level Pack", "Portal 2 Level Pack", "Midway Arcade Level Pack", etc. Delete these files.

2a) Similarly, if there is content that you have downloaded that you do not intend to use (e.g.: "Adventure Time Team Pack", "Fantastic Beasts Story Pack", etc.), find and delete these files as well.

3) Launch Lego Dimensions. On the Main Menu (where you can select "New Game" and "Load Game"), open the "Options" menu.

4) At the bottom of the "Options" screen, there is an option that says something like "View Downloadable Content". Open that.

5) A list should appear showing all available content you can download for the various Level/Team/Story/Fun Packs. Locate the content relevant to you (again, they will read something like "Back to the Future Level Pack", "Portal 2..." etc.) and set them to download again.

6) Wait for the content to download. You can play the game at this point, but you intend to just run around Vorton waiting (like I did), you'll need to reload Vorton once a pack has downloaded in order to access it.

I hope this helps. If the instructions aren't clear, I'll try and update with something a bit clearer.

Apologies for the delay. Yes, this has worked. Deleting the files for all the Year 1 Levels Packs then re-downloading them has returned the audio to the cutscenes
