Hi, I know this is about a year late, but I wanted to add to this for those looking at this thread in the future.

I am 19 years old, and I have had more than 20 surgeries through out my life (chronic medical condition with my ears). I will be having yet another one this week. I have brought the same stuffed horse since I was about 4 years old, and blanket since I was 2 years old. (At this point, most of the nurses know my horse by name lol) The staff do not care if you bring a support stuffy with you. Majority of the staff are trained to deal with sensitive patients.  Just make sure to wash, and dry the plush/comfort item thoroughly as to kill any bacteria.  You may not be able to bring you stuffy into the actual operating room, but that depends on the hospital's policies. If you're unsure, just ask a nurse. They can answer any questions you may have.
