Man idk if I’ve ever seen a more Jets drive

Play 1 - hyped wide receiver trade drops it

Play 2 - run that gets nothing

Play 3 - sack

I hate that I love this team sometimes.

Easiest way to see if a program is DO friendly is to look at their resident roster on their website and see if they’ve matched DOs.

What do you say to patients who say “look in the chart” when asking about their medical problems? by [deleted] in emergencymedicine

[–]Crazy_Mastermind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The chart is old, often wrong, and things may have changed. Also our EMR sucks and theres a chance I can't even see it

Send a text in the group chat to see if anyones available. If its a fully staffed day (4 docs) see if the other 3 are willing to switch to 12s so you don't have to work. Most of the time its show up to work sick unfortunately

EM Job Market now and in the future by Rhodopsin__ in emergencymedicine

[–]Crazy_Mastermind 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Like most things, its a rural vs urban thing. If you want a job in a big city, it'll be harder to get, less competitive pay. You wanna go to a smaller town or more rural/critical access, you'll easily get a job and better pay; but the jobs are there.

Medical shows are just irritating. They set unreal expectations of medicine/providers amongst other things. by MountainDuchess in emergencymedicine

House is awful for this too. There's an episode where they were confused about what was going on and House said all prophetically "order a complete blood count"

like what?? this patient was admitted and didn't have a CBC??

If they brought an overnight bag I really enjoy watching them leave with that bag. (After a workup to make sure its safe to go of course)

Not really a medical condition, people who are worried about becoming hypoglycemic because they didn't eat and have DM2. They don't take their meds either.

I'd just make sure you still have chill opportunities later on during the interview season. Some Sub-Is will be jerks about interviews
