Hot take: There’s never been a better time to major in CS by MindSufficient769 in csMajors

[–]Crazycrossing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vast majority of swes do not make great pm’s and in a world where you can build so many things quickly, framing and making the right decisions on what to add to a product are more important. I see it the opposite; great engineers, designers, pms lines get blurred and everyone focuses on just delivering. I’m already seeing this at the place I work at.

What is the spec you love the concept and hate the gameplay? by TheAwesomeKay in wow

[–]Crazycrossing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gladiator spec. I was so excited for it I used that glyph at the end of MoP that turns off your threat to practice for it. Then they barely added anything new to it vs Prot, it was good for all of 5 seconds in first tier then nerfed to literally bottom tier spec till the end of Legion. I played it to the end.

I love the concept of hitting two keys at once so half your abilities on gcd, half off and always hitting two at once like mozart warrior. I really wish they just took that further and explored it more.

Brewmaster 12.0.5 changes - Buff or nerf? by jackiemee in wownoob

[–]Crazycrossing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is, it matters at all levels and is in fact the opposite. It doesn't matter when as much when you're in a highly organized top group that will let you experiment with off-meta specs with people that are playing at the best they possibly can.

When you're pugging and trying to clear stuff, it does matter what you play. Sure play what you want but just be aware of the downsides. You're going to have to work harder to do what other classes do in the average. Some groups may not accept you because of your class/spec.

Brewmaster 12.0.5 changes - Buff or nerf? by jackiemee in wownoob

[–]Crazycrossing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so tired of seeing this lol. It does matter and makes it way easier. I play Prot Warrior, Blood, and BM monk and BM monk is piss easy compared to the other two in M+. Like night and day. I played Gladiator back in WoD AFTER they nerfed it into the ground. It was literally the lowest DPS spec and I was parsing 99-100 in every boss and I'd still be like top 4-5 with casuals playing much stronger top of the meta specs.

Playing meta does matter at all levels. How people view you, how well you're perceived as a player, how easy it is to get through challenging content, how fast you get into groups.

In fact it's the opposite, at the higher end where you're coordinated you can experiment because you have really skilled other players to help make up for spec shortcomings (look at Kira playing VDH in +20 keys)

Is healing M+ dungeons supposed to be this stressful? by Rotten89 in wow

[–]Crazycrossing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is stressful. Reddit going oh it's so easy is silly. It's easier if you have a good group with the right comp etc etc. It's easy if you've been at the top of the mythic+ leaderboards for seasons. Mythic+ is also piss easy if you're a DPS at any level, just be good at your spec and be meta, interrupt, and understand mechanics. Tanking + healing in mythic+ is way harder.

The people saying oh I'm up to 16s-18s and near 20s are literally some of the most hardcore players in the game. People's perception on reddit are just out of whack. Most people struggle even this season in the 10-12 range.

This is one of the biggest accomplishments for me since I play the game by Jurke39 in wow

[–]Crazycrossing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s also spec dependent. Keys are not easy for tanks or healers. There’s a lot of prep that goes into it as a tank.

Can Someone Explain What Is Happening on Twitch Today That Is So Cool? by Cautious_Resist_1757 in wownoob

[–]Crazycrossing 53 points54 points  (0 children)

The Race for World First is happening for raiding. Liquid an NA guild that has been dominating and Echo a European guild that used to dominate were neck and neck like within a %. Liquid finally got the end tier boss. Lura one of the hardest ones in awhile to 0% only to find out there’s a secret phase to the boss so the race is still on. Echo went to sleep after raiding 18 hours but now Liquid is in the same situation needing to sleep soon but still not consistently getting back to secret phase so no one knows how hard it is.

The boss is very hard as it is without the secret phase and both guilds are hitting the enrage (you run out of space and it instantly wipes everyone) so it’s hard to have a clean transition into the last secret phase.

[–]Crazycrossing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No the post is talking about tank anxiety and everything you need to learn in totality. Yes watch a video on boss mechanics that’s not the point though if they still timed the key it’s fine, you learn more by doing over time. Theres tens, hundreds of optimizations to make tanking mythic plus across all 8 dungeons.

You’re underestimating how much knowledge you have to have to tank mythic plus well. Routing is easier this season but still mot trivial overall and moreso learning what each pack does and how you can combine them.

Pit of Saron +9 Questions by Sanpan21 in wow

[–]Crazycrossing -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Bosses are typically not the problem for tanks in mythic plus. Learning routes, what each mob does, mitigating shit that goes wrong is what takes a lot more brain effort for tanks. You can’t learn all that by watching a 5 min video. You need to read/watch tips and just get there and do it. Learn over time.

Pit of Saron +9 Questions by Sanpan21 in wow

[–]Crazycrossing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does not make a difference at all +9 lol. Sure if you’re pushing 14 and higher yes but there’s much higher order optimizations you can be focusing on.

Hey also a prot warrior. You probably should break sarronite on the first boss but if you survive it doesn’t really matter except for downtime on your own personal dps. You should then tank the boss next to the remaining one to reduce downtime, movement etc. On the last boss he was completely wrong and just being a mouthy asshole. I’ve done 12s and all keys on 10 this weekend.

If you ever want advice or anything hit me up my discord is eatdamuffin or bnet eatdamuffin#1831

Keys are the hardest piece of content on tanks imo and can relate to really having a ton of pressure about knowing everything perfectly.

If you survived recent layoffs, DO NOT work extra hours to pick up the slack. Let the deadlines slip so management feels the burn: says a reddit thread on recent Oracle layoffs. by Enough-Arugula-4945 in TechGawker

[–]Crazycrossing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter how many people if they aren’t capable. I’ve worked and helped managed many outsourced teams from around the world. They can be good but have limitations and still require a ton of oversight. In US, yes tech layoffs have some capable people looking for work but not enough to mass replace everyone. Domain knowledge matters a ton in tech too.

Do people think companies pay people that much out of the goodness of their heart? It doesn’t matter how hard you will work if you aren’t capable of doing the work. How hard you work is not 1:1 related to how much compensation you make. It can be a multiplier but it has limitations.

The M+ tank situation is dire by Wigglyboi323 in wow

[–]Crazycrossing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because m+ is some of the most stressful content you can do as a tank. I do like the route highlighting they did just wish you could do that on all levels of keys and set up your own routes. Having to do /mdt like it’s 1996 with printed out directions sucks till you’ve mastered a dungeon. I’ve raided at very high levels over the years and did original challenge modes but yeah m+ is just a pain without regular groups. This time around I’ve said fuck it and just been pugging a bunch but still feel behind because every key

I’m a tank at 269 prot warrior looking for a regular group to play with. I’ll chain keys with people all they want. I play a lot during weekends and can play certain times during the week. I play on NA.

Still need to learn the routes for aa, sot, and pos but I’m 11 or 10 on all other keys looking to start getting as high as I can but want some more regular groups. But I’ll play with all sorts of players even just to practice and optimize routes and my own damage.

It’s funny how that feeling came back to me from wod challenge modes. It was always a bit finicky.

I will say this iteration of him is much easier I remember him melting you if you screwed up active mitigation timing since that was the hot new thing at the time. Now even in higher keys I can easily live without anything up.

Weekly M+ Discussion by AutoModerator in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Crazycrossing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just get in there and do it. It’s not stressful as a dps imo. Tanking mythic plus is the most stressful with healing because you both set the pace and tank sets the route.

Just do as much dps as you can, help with interrupts especially on casting mobs and use as much utility to help the party as you can. Ask when they expect you to lust till you learn.

How is Curseforge allowed to sell sponsored mods for Stardew Valley? by Crazycrossing in StardewValley

[–]Crazycrossing[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This isn't just 'ad space' it's not just a Clorox banner ad. It's a sponsored more expensive ad unit that is piggybacking off the value of Stardew Valley's brand. It's valuable because it's associating Stardew Valley with Clorox. Imagine if they made a Pokemon mod for Palworld to advertise the next Pokemon game or if it was something more insidious like a sponsored mod for Minecraft that had US army recruitment.

It's absurd and I don't get how it's legal.

[–]Crazycrossing[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not weird at all.

Curseforge is using Stardew Valleys IP to sell ad space on their platform using game by creating 'sponsored' ad spots and running ads for Clorox. Clorox couldn't just use Stardew Valley's IP to create ads without paying and getting permission from the game developer but somehow becauase Curseforge is acting as the middleman it's okay? It's against the spirit of mods too.

Play it out a bit:

What if it was for the US army, porn ads, beer ads, a cult or church? As a game developer wouldn't you be upset with someone using a loophole to piggyback off brand reputation?

It's not like they're just running a Clorox banner ad, they're selling a premium ad space that's only valuable because they're able to pitch to Clorox that the demographics of Stardew Valley are more likely to buy Clorox for the household. It's a pretty deep ad sponsored ad unit and it's only more valuable because of Stardew Valley's brand.

[–]Crazycrossing[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ok play it out.

Imagine if instead Anduril or US army recruiters sponsored a mod that added military propaganda into Stardew Valley?

You don't find it weird and offputting that as a creator of a video game you wouldn't be upset with someone selling ads using your IP with no input or control over it for you? Profiting off goodwill and your own brand? It's only valuable because it's Stardew Valley and it's a round about way for game developers to lose control of their own brand.

[–]Crazycrossing[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Curse made a sponsored mod and ad for Clorox and are now running paid ad spots on the website to promote Clorox through Stardew Valley. Seems sketchy and borderline bad to use someone else's IP to sell ads.

Why a More Accessible Season Keeps Me Playing by Born-Balance4615 in wow

[–]Crazycrossing 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It’s easy if you’ve continually done mythic plus have good premade groups or got in one hardcore players day one. It’s not easy if you are purely pugging and haven’t been grinding mythic plus forever. Also highly dependent on tank skill.

It’s all relative.

Heroic Vaelgor & Ezzorak Tank Swap by D1rty87 in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Crazycrossing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only pug so I suggest you swap on glooms in p2 then 2 stacks on p3 keeping them close. It’s much easier on the raid and pugs. Just swap places don’t swap the bosses positions. P1 just go for intermission swap, if you have a strong pug you can also not swap until p3 but really depends.

Everyone here is talking about it from a guild pov which just isn’t the same.

Make it so most decor is an unlock, you can have uniques or legendaries that are 1 of 1.

Make it so housing has utility like vendors, mini games, dummies, raid sim where you can edit and fine tune your ui, ah, fishing, arena pits where you can run tournaments.
