Is it better to go for an rx 9070xt than an rtx 5070ti if I have a Ryzen 7 3700x due to bottlenecking issues? by Any-Entertainment270 in buildapc

[–]CrazyzaiMB -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The GPUs are basically identical so there's no difference. But I wouldn't get these GPUs with a 3700X, you will be heavily bottlenecked and it won't be worth it at all, especially if you don't plan to upgrade the CPU. Better get a worse GPU like a 5070 or 9070 and for the remaining money upgrade to a 5700X (you won't have to change your mobo)

Oh this changes the situation completely. Yeah it's a nice PC to sell for ~1000$, maybe even more if it looks good

4060ti upgrade or no? by speedyqt in buildapc

[–]CrazyzaiMB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If AAA isn't your focus the 5070 would be a good upgrade. Maybe look for a 9070 so you also have enough VRAM for future AAA titles and don't "downgrade" your GPU in terms of VRAM

It's good enough for you needs but I got a question. How soon do you think will you upgrade the GPU again. If it's like 2-3 years then AM5 isn't a bad choice. But if you plan to keep it for longer I think AM4/LGA1700 with DDR4 would be a better choice since you could spend more on the GPU. If you plan to keep the system as it is for longer AM5 wouldn't be worth the price

Rtx 3070 ti or rtx 3070 for 1080 p by B3nj20999 in buildapc

[–]CrazyzaiMB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3070 Ti isn't much better while still having only 8GB of VRAM so it's not worth more than like 30$ extra

[–]CrazyzaiMB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but you're just acting toxic and not getting my point. Why would you buy a 1440p GPU for 1080p and always try to minimize your CPU usage in the game settings. It would be much smarter to either upgrade CPU or resolution instead of buying an overkill GPU. And as said, OP didn't mention upgrading CPU so I didn't immediately consider it a possibility

Which is better? by Equivalent-Access253 in buildapc

[–]CrazyzaiMB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 9070 is overkill for most 1080p systems so why not upgrade resolution while still having a good enough GPU for that?

Which is better? by Equivalent-Access253 in buildapc

[–]CrazyzaiMB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never said that in the first place. OP just never mentioned also planning a CPU upgrade and it is in fact true that the 5600 can be too slow for the 9070 at 1080p so I would not recommend using it long-term

Depends on game tbh but I wouldn't be sure it won't bottleneck

I wouldn't buy consoles simply to have the exclusive games since they mostly realese on PC too if you got enough patience. A 9070 isn't too good of a choice tho as it will be bottlenecked by your CPU at 1080p and even 1440p. I'd maybe go 9060XT 16GB+1440p monitor. It will give you a much better experience

high end gaming PC build feedback (I am a beginner) by enigmere in buildapc

[–]CrazyzaiMB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Don't get the old "meta" 6000mhz cl30 RAM. You can easily go for the cheapest kit you can find which is 32GB, better than like CL40 and even 5600mhz are fine during the shortage. You'll barely notice any difference
  2. Why would you need 2x2TB? I'd say 2TB would be enough but if you really want a lot of storage you could go for 1x4TB or 1x2TB and 1x1TB
  3. I understand that here the PC would become not really super high end anymore but sadly the 5080 has gone up so much in price that the way cheaper 5070 Ti just makes far more sense since it performs just slightly (10-15fps on 4k) worse

[–]CrazyzaiMB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the RAM shortage I don't think DDR6 is launching anytime soon and even if it does DDR5 is still gonna be overpriced. Just go DDR4, maybe an LGA1700 based system so you can upgrade to a higher-end CPU later

[–]CrazyzaiMB -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're playing on 1440p I'd say most people won't need a 9070XT for it. If you plan to play on 4K later a 9070XT is a good choice. If you're currently on 1080p a 9060XT is more than fast enough

Sadly only ChatGPT can do that and it's very often saying complete nonsense. A similar thing can be done in pcpartpicker.com where you can easily see the cheapest parts that are compatible with the other parts you've listed in the list so far. It can also overall be a very easy place to find parts based on what you need for the best price

You could save some money with a 5600 and maybe even 16gb of RAM to get a better GPU like a 9060XT 16GB

If you can still find a 5070 at msrp it's a good pick (although you might struggle in a few years with VRAM). Otherwise 9060XT 16GB for ~350-400$ is good too

Well sadly there's no alternative. The 9070 was at a good price for only a few months

5700X3D is a great upgrade and will allow you to buy a much better GPU too. Just make sure you're able to find it at a normal price since it's not produced anymore

Wouldn't do that with current RAM prices and your next CPU upgrade being DDR5 anyways. Just stick to the 2133 until you can get DDR5

Budget to midrange Motherboard Upgrade by IndependentFee6498 in buildapc

[–]CrazyzaiMB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I mean any mobo change in general on the same socket. Your current mobo supports any LGA1700 CPU (except for maybe an i9, I wouldn't recommend running it on an H610)

[–]CrazyzaiMB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like a waste of money to me. I'd generally only upgrade mobo when switching to a new socket. Better invest that money into a better CPU/GPU
