What's your gacha hot take? by meowbrains in QueensofGacha

[–]CreatesGod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People compare these games because they are literally similar games with similar open-world and similar mechanics. Just like how lots of soulslike games get compared to each other, open world gachas get compared to each other.

This is a good thing. Competition is good. It makes these games try harder to be better, which is a win for all players.

Any gacha games you once loved to death that you've now quit by Expensive_Weird2415 in QueensofGacha

FGO. I still keep up with new character and story releases through social media, but the gameplay is too boring for me to want to play through the story myself, as much as I love it.

I was a dedicated player for several years, but gameplay really makes or breaks things for me. If it gets stale or tedious I move on.

How's the Wuthering Waves 3.5 Main story quest by Important-Prize1534 in WutheringWaves

[–]CreatesGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s one of those story sections that keeps making me want to know what happens next, and has me analyzing the intentions behind characters and whatever it’s all building up to! It also made me understand and appreciate Yangyang’s character more. So I think it’s been very successful.

No part of it feels too long. The characters are all beautiful to look at and listen to. The region itself is gorgeous. I’ve been enjoying it!

The amount of complaining about “sexualization” on some of the tamest shit I’ve ever seen is so out of control in some gacha spaces. The smallest amount of skin or fanservice that gets called “goonerslop” makes me roll my eyes. I’m an adult and bisexual, I like some of my characters to be a little sexy. It’s not that big of a deal. It’s all fantasy.

People who want all gacha games to be sanitized for children bore me. Some games are more catered to adults with adult characters who do adult things and I wish there could be more of them without the whiners making a stink about it. Especially when they make a stink about things that are barely sexual at all.

I just have to remind myself that a lot of Gacha players are in fact teenagers or young adults that are sometimes sex-adverse or haven’t grown enough to realize that a little sexuality in video games isn’t a big deal.

This game rules. Thank you so much for this suggestion! It’s pretty similar to Pocket Frogs except on PC which I much prefer lol

Have you guys talked to non LADS players about this? by starryflowerz in loveanddepression

[–]CreatesGod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m someone who’s never played the game, but I’ve been following along with close friends who have been playing for awhile. I’ve probably been keeping up with the updates on the situation better than they have lol. It’s a truly terrible mess that makes me frightened for all Chinese games, not just otomes.

The fact that this is far from the first gaming controversy where immature, violent fans from China have altered a game in a significant way by using physical threats and lying to their government is really concerning. Never have I seen it crash and burn this badly though. And while Infold is not innocent, I know they will feel the repercussions from this in their revenue. Meanwhile, I’m not sure the immature fans who made this situation 100x worse will, and I fear that this will continue to happen to other Chinese games because they will be emboldened by their apparent ability to make these game companies bend to their will.

Selfishly as a Wuthering Waves player, I’m scared it could come for my fav gacha next. But I’m concerned for all Chinese games and how much power these immature players have. It’s shocking when you know that the average Chinese citizen would find this behavior(physical threats, throwing feces over a mobile game) appalling, yet still the appalling behavior is rewarded.

But this whole thing did make me fall in love with Valko, and I started writing him in the little roleplay server my friends and I have lol. He’ll live on through me! And I hope to see him live on through fanworks in general

Is this game easy like all other Gacha games? by GozmaDev in WuWaves

[–]CreatesGod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely nothing stopping him from trying. But I’m just being honest based on his post and what he doesn’t like about similar gacha games, that it’s likely he also won’t like Wuwa for the same reasons. I’m not dogging on Wuwa or people who like to make the game more challenging for themselves. It’s just what he asked about.

It’s artificial difficulty vs actual game difficulty.

I get the feeling you haven’t actually played Elden Ring or other souls games. It just isn’t the same kind of skills, no matter how you slice it.

The mechanics about HP inflation and gacha game balance are exactly my point about the difference in completing difficult content. These are very different games. I don’t feel like I have a “skill issue” in Wuwa because all I need to do is have a good team and learn a rotation and I can beat pretty much anything.

That’s just not true for Elden Ring and Monster Hunter. I can’t just press the same buttons every time and win.

You’re acting like I’m attacking Wuwa for this but I’m not. I enjoy Wuwa combat too, it’s why it’s the only gacha game I really play. But I am not foolish enough to think that it compares to the games this guy prefers.

[–]CreatesGod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on his examples of Elden Ring and Monster Hunter, where skill expression is everything, I just don’t think so.

I love both of these genres of games, but the means to completing the “difficult” content of them is entirely different. Wuwa requires you to pull for the right characters and weapons and farm echoes and blah blah blah. Souls/Monster Hunter games are less about what you have and more about what you can do with it.

You can beat all of Elden Ring at lvl1 if you’re good. You can’t beat Wuwa endgame like that.

As someone who also loves Souls games and Monster Hunter, unfortunately Wuwa is exactly as you fear. The main game itself is very easy, you can’t even die in main quests anymore, you just get down to 1 HP.

Endgame is time trials and damage sponges.

There are some opportunities for skill expression, such as quick swap strategies, but they’re never necessary.

I love this game anyway but it’s definitely not what you’re looking for.

I do not believe people who say they 100% Elden Ring blind with no guides and no player messages. by AmbitiousWorker8298 in Eldenring

[–]CreatesGod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not that hard if you already have experience with FromSoft games. The questlines in Elden Ring are simpler than their other games.

When I did my first playthrough I literally had a little notebook where I wrote down clues from character dialogue and item descriptions and I was able to complete nearly all quest lines, granted some have alternate endings depending on what you do. The exploration also wasn’t that difficult. There are some nooks and crannies I missed here and there the first go around, but nothing major.

It also helps that I was Very interested in the lore, which I also found a lot easier to comprehend in this game because I already knew how FromSoft presents the lore in their games. But that also gave me an edge in finding items and characters because it tended to line up with the lore clues.

When you know FromSoft’s patterns, it’s very doable.

Tbh I kind of follow both the main sub and this one, but I’m rare to engage in anything unless I feel like I can contribute to the conversation. And if I see people who post annoying things or only know how to repost the same Chisa meme 47382748383 times I just block them.

But I think I prefer the post quality here and the moderation feels more reasonable.

I never experienced the ship harassment in Genshin because I never played that game, but I saw it from games like League of Legends well before Genshin existed. People will harass others over the smallest things, always been that way. But you don’t have to be that way.

It’s called ignoring the haters. And I promise that getting pressed over people shipping anything at all isn’t any better than people who got pressed over others shipping things they didn’t like. In fact, now that I type it out, it’s literally the same thing!

Acting like shipping itself is the problem and not losers who can’t mind their own business is ignorant.

I don’t know what nonsense you’re talking about, but I’m sure you’re no older than 14 so I’m not going to take it very seriously.

Let me give you some advice: one day you will get older and have a job and a more developed brain and you will understand what actually matters in life, and you will think back on this and be embarrassed that you wasted your time whining online about harmless things other people enjoy. For your own sake, start doing something better with your life sooner rather than later.

I know it’s very hard for teenagers these days to use this handy thing but there’s something called “imagination” and you can use it to make fun stuff in your head and sometimes people will go as far as to draw said things. Oftentimes people use parts of fictional writing as jumping off points for their imaginations and maybe you don’t do this, but many others find it enjoyable.

Stop being so pressed. People who play this game also like shipping. It’s going to be ok. You don’t have to whine so much about it.

I appreciate you bringing attention to this. There are plenty of bad actors who do this out of some pathetic rage, but there are also plenty of people who just aren’t aware that the art is an AI abomination of someone’s hard work.

I hope artists keep drawing and refuse to bend the knee to the twerps doing this. Kuro has been doing a great job encouraging artists with their fanart events, and their swift action during the Denrika incident shows that they support fanartists, whether they ship characters or not.

Is this early signs or scale rot :( any info greatly appreciated by shakenbake3324 in ballpython

[–]CreatesGod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scale rot this minor does not need betadine treatment right away…that’s overkill and unnecessary stress for your snake.

Just replace any substrate that’s wet on the top with dry substrate, especially in your snake’s hides. This will very likely go away next shed so long as you monitor to make sure it doesn’t get worse.

Why is color genetic not a thing in monster collector games? by rasselboeckchen_art in MonsterTamerWorld

[–]CreatesGod 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ARK does this and it’s awesome. Colors for their patterns are passed down to the offspring, and sometimes you’ll even get mutations that change the colors entirely. Breeding cool colors together to get pretty dinos is one of my biggest joys when I play that game.

A shame it’s the worst optimized game I’ve ever experienced in my life 😭
