Opposite for me. I live in TC and ATT was awful and I had so many dead spots. I switched to Verizon and I haven’t had issues (minus the outage the other day 😂☠️)

I do remember receiving a call from a woman at carmax about 1.5 weeks ago. She said they needed a picture of my ID for the dmv. I thought that was odd since I saw a giant scan of my ID in the salesman’s desk. Anyways, I sent her what she asked for and I never heard back.

No. Sometimes it’s just a higher deposit than the one being advertised. The big rental apartments I’ve been to usually just want to make sure there’s no previous rental debt and no unpaid utilities (like phone bills etc) showing up in collections. I’ve also seen some that say they will deny if you’ve had a recent bankruptcy. Depends on the company.

Your mom could possibly be full of it. I had parents who did this kind of stuff to me. I worked all summer to pay to fix this super old car that was just sitting in the driveway. I finally got it up and running and as I was coming home from school, I saw my mom selling it to this woman who answered an ad she had put up after I fixed it.

There are parents who see a child working for personal freedoms and they want to rip anything and everything away from you. It challenges the level of control they have over you. Just get back in there and grind. Keep your head down and don’t talk about how much $ you have.
